Talking New Fur-baby on the Way!

    Hi Guys

So some of you may remember i posted a thread a little while ago about the possibility of getting another dog. My partner and i were looking into getting a rescue dog, mainly because we didn't want to go through the puppy stage again (although i do miss it now that Buckley is a little big older!!) and were a bit worried that Buckley might be a little too 'rough and tumble" for a little puppy.

Anyway, we've been looking on some rescue sites for the past few months, but no real success. I've always loved loved loved english pointers, and just out of curiosity, i thought i'de have a look on some perth breeder websites. There only really seemed to be one active breeder in perth, and it just so happened to be down the road from me! After lots of umming and ahhing, i bit the bullet and gave them a call.

She also advised against getting a puppy, but had the perfect pointer in mind for us. A 6 month old girl called Faith (we're going to change this to Abbie as she doesn't know her name). They had kept her with the intention of showing her. I believe she won some 'rising star of the year' award, but as it turns out she doesn't have the scissor bite they need to win shows, so they have been looking to sell her as a pet. We took Buckley round to meet her yesterday. They got along great but she was very shy. I guess she's only ever known her brothers and sisters though.

I do assume she will need a bit of training and house breaking. She currently lives in an outdoors kennel run. Fingers crossed all goes to plan. The breeder is more than happy to take her back if things so horribly wrong but i'm sure it will be great. I'm all ready madly in love with her!

Buckley is getting desexed next week, so the breeder is going to take her to get desexed at the same time. We pick her up in 2 weeks time! Sooo over the mooon! It has turned out so perfect! The breeder is going to take and send me some photos of her today as i stupidly forgot to take my camera!! Photos to come!!

Congrats on the new addition...... How old is Buckley now?

It's funny how the universe works sometimes hey.... you ended up with the 'older' dog you had been intending on by pure 'luck' or 'fate' which ever you like to call it.

Good luck with the first few weeks and the time it will take to get her used to the rules of your house.
    Cheers Aleesha

    Oh she is gorgeous congrats!!!

The Rising Star thing she was talking about was on the Dogzsonline website I would think. Very good achievement to be number 1!
