Me to!!! This is my dream. But my plan is to go to the US for a few years and learn as much as I can about them and about rescuing/rehabbing them from the people who do it best over there (BAD RAP etc) and then come home and set up my own rescue in the ACT (bigger population on the East Coast).

Just need to clear all my debts and then will start planning

Gee you travel a lot - I am a bit jealous. I am working hard to catch up!
This year China and NZ. Next year Maldives then Europe. I still need to get back to Tasmania. I also want to see NT and Perth.

I haven't been to NT yet. I've done Tassy a couple of times on drive holidays, also did a drive holiday through SA and another through Vic and yet another through QLD. I still want to get up to Cairns though and haven't made it that far. I've done the west coast but only went up as high as Exmouth and I still want to do Broome. I've also been to Vietnam (twice) and Thailand as well.

As we will be in the south of France next year, and close to the border of Spain, we will possibly travel to Barcelona as well. I still want to India, Italy and Greece.

There are so many places and countries I want to visit.

Now you can see why getting any more dogs might not be a wise option. Our children are all grown up and out on their own and so it is only the animals we have to worry about when we travel. It makes it hard to just take off for the weekend which we would do more often if we didn't have any animals to care for. What makes it worse is almsot all my babies have health issues or age related issues so I can't just send them off anywhere to be boarded or anything.

While I am on the subject... can anyone recommend house/pet sitters in the Illawarra region?

I have the best pet/house sitter in Western Sydney - Sorry not much help I know.

She looks after all my animals when I am away - Fosters included!

My OH usually stays home when I go away - he doesn't like to travel much so I have someone to do the basics. I get my pet sitter to swing by and walk the Johnny when I am away.

I want to visit Africa, Vietnam and Antarctica (Very expensive!) I also want to go with a volunteer research group to Slovakia and track wolves. I wish I have more leave!!

Is Colo Heights too far away?
She boards in her own home and picks up and delivers dogs for a fee.

that's be awesome, I'd love to meet those people,

how about this, you set up in ACT and look after eastern and southern Aus, and I'll set up in NT and look after northern and western?

    then we'll have it covered

Too far Di. Also, I have 1 cat, 3 dogs and 2 birds so I Ned someone who can live in to care for them all. Monte is a bad epileptic so they also need to be able to handle this.
