    Default Troll?

Ok even thou I am not new to the whole forum thing.. (Two young children) I never really seen the word "TROLL" used as much as it is used on here.

What is a Troll and why do people call that to new members, specially ones with strong opinions or react to the strong opinions of long term members?

    Thanks In advance guys!!

Troll (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That should help you. this site has had numerous trolls over the time and generally they are usually pretty easy to pick.
And they will always be a new member as well, if they werent they'd have established credibility.

I wouldn't think the word was used any more often here than on any other forum I vist to be honest. Maybe you just notice it more here because it is a small forum?

A realist just finishes the damn thing and refills it.

A thread done by a troll might be:

"I have mated my great dane with my chihuahua, how much can I charge for the resultant puppies"

It will then have comments through it such as "the chihuahua is the bitch and she had surgery to stitch her back up after the mating so she should be all right for birth"

And other rubbish purposefully posted to annoy everyone.

We had one here, a young girl who was excellent in stirring things up, pming people behind the scenes and having a fine old time till she was banned. Some can seem authentic but those are the cleverer ones. Usually they are pretty easy to pick.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

I find the word troll used more often here than in any other forum.

Yes it gets pretty annoying too.. especially as a moderator who gets reports from new members very offended at being called a troll. It's rude and insulting and unless it's obvious, it shouldn't be thrown around like it is.
I am actually considering sending warnings to repeat offenders.

Tbh I can't think of any other forums where it gets thrown around so loosely.

Also, when you read the first post on particular type threads, you can almost instantly predict the track the thread will take. I think people could be nicer about expressing their opinions, and then that way people might actually learn insead of getting their hackles up when called a troll.

I honestly have seen It more on here then any other forum. To be honest it looks like any new member that challenges a "long term member" Is branded a "Troll" and all opinions of that person after that are totally disregarded.
