Thread: HALAL- Blood on Our Hands

  1. #31

    Default

I have not read back so apologies if I am repeating anything.

At the abattoir here is Tas every animal that passes through is killed in the Halal fashion.

Slit throat, then bolted. It is not just places like Indonesia, it's happening right here in Aus.

It is fast, but the animals still have to feel the knife going through before they are released from the pain by the bolt.

Here we have no choice BUT eat Halal red meat... as they do it to every single animal. Even the chickens are "blessed" before slaughter.

If I had the option there is no way I would eat Halal meat, but of course, there would be too much wastage and too much work to figure out how many packets of Halal they would sell to bother sorting out which animals should be slit and which shouldn't.

Question To set the record straight

However, the fact that they have thrown a christian based link in as their 'evidence', they quote from the bible, and the subject of the thread talks of hala tells me it is a discussion about religious beliefs. That is how I see it anyway.
Evidence???? What are you on about? You have mentioned christianity from your first posts in this thread. You then continue to backtrack and full forward the throttle when I have clearly stated that this issue-that you now apparently get (???) is a disgusting abomination of animal rights.

The evidence is the footage and the outcry of the people of this country. How could you ever have mistaken it? Now tell me, I am hard to understand!

How often throughout the thread have you mentioned religion? Not only that, you made comments about meat eaters being hypocrites ([Middle English ipocrite, from Old French, from Late Latin hypocrita, from Greek hupocrits, actor, from hupokrnesthai, to play a part, pretend; see hypocrisy.]

Moreover you say: You never insinuated anything as an opening comment. Two sentences later, you retract the opening comment with some other excuse.

I totally agree that this is worded far better and I agree with the statement as you have written it.

Dakota, I find your posts impossible to read and to be honest, I am over the idea of trying to decipher what you mean. You might have great things to say, but you need to learn how to articulate clearly. Reading your posts does my head in in much the same ways as trying to decipher a 12months old baby's babble does as they scream and become hysterical because they're not being understood. My advice to you is to learn what the definition of halal is. Halal does not mean slaughter. Halal means that it is "lawful"

The term you are looking for is dhabiha, which is the "method" of slaughter.

To everyone reading this - unless you are a true vegan and only eat eggs that come from real free range hens, you support abusvie practices and torture of animals that are used for consumption in this country and so you are being nothing more than hypocritical by only being alarmed at dhabiha slaughtered meat.
I am not a supporter of live trade either.

What I find most offensive in the OP is the religious context that has been blandly copied. The work of Getup! is not offensive and if you were part of my 'circle' of friends and acquaintances then you would have been sent emails and messages from me urging you to sign the petition against live trade over the last day or 2.
Quite frankly-I don't know what you support

I haven't insinuated anything. I have simply made a relevant comment, and then openly admitted that I also eat animal products. If I was insinuating anything, I was also aiming that insinuation at myself then.

Agree. I don't have much regard for most religions and religious practices, including christianity in all its forms.

All I can say is "say what?"

Perhaps "What you talkin' 'bout Willis' is also apt at this time.

Be very careful, or it may be that you are inciting vilification (something I have been warned about by the open comments that are not so nice with regard to A faith. It seems choice is not an option! Sad.

    Apparently- according to the OP

I do not support the assumption from the OP and would not jeopardise any potential signing of a petition to end this disaster- whether they are vegan or meateater.

A petition that has only just begun has grown from its release date to up around half a million people in just a few days.

Of those, there are bound to be individuals that eat meat.
It is the act (the cruel and tragic twist of the hands of those our cattle are falling into in Indonesia-that is the Outcry here).
