Thread: Dog Related Movies

    Default Dog Related Movies

I just finished watching "Best in Show" for about the hundredth time. I love how people think it's mocking the dog show world when really, it's almost a real documentary

What are some of your favourite dog movies?

There are quite a few I would love to see but know I would be bawling my eyes out by the end of them.

Beethoven (1 & 2 - because of the puppies lol)
Marley & Me - Although I prefer the book
    Snow Dogs

Can't think of any others this early lol!

Top 2 are oldies but absolutely brilliant.

A lot of dog movie annoy the crap out of me because they give the dog human expressions and behaviours and half our problems with dogs come from treating them like adult humans.

But I did like Mask - with Jim Carrey. It's about the only movie of his I did like.

Turner and Houch was fun, and the dog in one of the Lethal Weapon movies was a fun character.

And I know these aren't movie dogs, but I liked Moose the dog in Fraiser and Inspector Rex.

I think you've covered them all... white Fang... did that get mentioned yet... I love any movie with a dog... haha... I recently saw Hatchi for the first time and bawled... lol... Dances with Wolves... another I love.... not so much dog but I love the scene where they dance....

I cry every time in 8 Below and that's a kids movie, I don't think I could ever watch Hatchi!

My favourite movies as a kid were Homeward Bound and Dances with Wolves... apparently when I was about 4 years old mum would put Dances with Wolves on and I would sit there glued to the TV for the whole 3 hours.

I loved the book of Call of the Wild but wasn't a big fan of the movie.

There is a Jeff Bridges movie out called 'A dog year' about a guy who gets a rescue. A lot of the problems he has with the dog I could relate to with Rox. Not the best film out there, but I certainly enjoyed it
