    Question What Breed is Shasta?

We are looking after this dog, Shasta, for some friends while they are on holidays.
He is absolutely gorgeous and very friendly!
We have to keep him away from Koda because they fight
He gets on great with Dodge though
Anyway, the owners say he is a Border collie X Golden retriever... but i dont think he looks like he has any Golden in him at all!
i am thinking BC/Lab (now i think about it i am not sure about the BC part) or Lab cross something else!
    What do you guys think?

The shape of his head isn't quite lab. I've seen a couple of kelpie x labs that look like that. The head is a little bit BC like.

Can't see any sign of golden retriever. Some people do get confused between labrador retriever and golden retriever - you know how you know what something is but the other name comes out of your mouth.

He looks a bit like my lab/kelpie/rottie mix.

His head reminds me of a Flat Coat Retriever. The sleek waist and 'main' on the chest is also similar.

I think absolutely 100% Lab. The original Lab though, none of that huge blocky head, big build stuff.
Someone posted a few months ago a photo of a working Lab compared to a family bred Lab, the difference was huge! I'll try and find it.
I also have a photo of a friends Lab, who looks very similar.

Very Kelpie-like in pics 2 and 4. I'd say Lab x Kelpie is likely.

Looks like a Kelpie Lab x to me.

i would too usually, but sometimes if a dog is adopted or something, the owners aren't always sure. I have herd of many people who dont know what breed their dog is.
But i can tell you, i am almost 100% sure there is no golden retriever in Shasta.

I'm thinkin BC cross flat coat retriever... which is actually the same thing as a golden retriever. The goldens just branched off into their own breed. Either retriever or lab. Looks a bit more lab actually, and yeah, maybe that's what they meant.
