Of course you have a right to an opinion.

If you think what I did what pathetic then that's your choice, I think I was doing to the right thing.
I didn't contact dogs NSW to call out someone over the internet, I called them to potentially put a stop to someone breeding both registered dogs and cross breds (not allowed by the code of ethics).

After I discovered they are not members I dropped the matter as there is nothing the club can do about non-members breeding unethically.

As I think I said in the other thread you can't have your cake and eat it too, you can either be a registered breeder and do things right, or you can breed your mutts. Claiming (and boasting) about doing both will land you in trouble.

JMO, there are no responsible puppy farmers, but there can be responsible backyard breeders. You're right, sometimes they are as bad as each other... Thus it follows that sometimes they aren't.

A refusal to engage in public argument is likewise not necessarily an admission of guilt. I try to tell this to the kids I work with all the time, but as a society we seem to have a culture that says engage in arguments or you're guilty...

I've got absolutely no problem with people voicing opinions... Infact, I enjoy hearing said opinions, it means I learn and expand my knowledge base. It also means I challenge long held beliefs. If I did have a problem, I shouldn't be on
a forum. But opinions are one thing, denigration another.

CD isn't here, whether that 'means' anything is a bit irrelevant... But it seems unreasonable to talk about her, rather than with her when she returns.

I'm gonna take my nose and stick it somewhere else now :-)

I'm just going off what I was told vs what I discovered.

Someone who was adamant they would never use a silly designer name, only ever sold puppies to family and who health tested, who then turned around and advertised puppies as Moodles with no mention of testing whatsoever....

I will await CD's excuses... I mean reply, when she returns.

I agree that not all backyard breeders are bad as well... I mean look at Mitte, by some peoples definition he would be considered a BYB because he doesn't show dogs, yet he has just had a litter and done everything possible to ensure happy healthy puppies, plus he had homes lined up before he even mated the dogs. He is a great breeder.

I would never call an ethical registered breeder a BYB just because they don't show. Do people really think this way?

An ethical registered breeder breeds purebreds for the betterment of the breed. They do all the health tests and ensure their pups go to great homes. They are certainly not in it for the money. They are members of the ANKC.

No, I didn't. It was even in bold! Strangely enough, though, it felt rhetorical.

If I have misunderstood you intent (so easy in text), I apologise.
