Thread: Warning About Pets Paradise

Sorry but I couldn't read much past the first few lines. Please use paragraphs and proper grammar.

I have no advice as I would never, ever sell any animal through a pet shop. I would personally want to view each new home and owner to make sure my puppies (accidental or not) get the best start in life and go to great, loving homes.

    Chop,
Thank you for giving the advise needed as far as homing these pups as I could see nothing but red, lol....................
The origanal poster of this thread this is my honest opinion & what I would do with the pups.
Yes you need to take the following steps.
    1. Desex both dogs now.
    2. Accept that these pups are now your respondsability for the rest of their lifes wether in your care or not. That means if home dose not work out you take the pup or now dog back & rehab & rehome it.
3.Take step to find good lifelong home for your pups who are at least now(thanks to a pets store ironicly)vacc & micro chipped. Which your unlikely to find advertising through the trading post.
    4. If your unwilling to take the above steps find a rescue group that will & surrendor the parents as well.

I like Chop & others on here could possibly help with rehoming but not for you to make money off. As I would be requesting these pups are kept till 12 wks & all desexed before homing or at least if because of health concerns early spay isn't an opition then very well written & followed up on spay & neuter contracts.
But I have a strong feeling if I offered to take 2 for rehoming you'd want much more than your out of pocket at this stage.

Agreed with Crazydog, please have all dogs desexed to prevent this happening again.

I know you're excited and upset about this but your post would be much easier to read if you put some breaks between your ideas ie press the enter button twice each time you stop to think about what you're going to say next.

You're going to need all the microchip numbers (your vet can help) to get them registered properly.

What the others said about pet shops.

No puppy should ever be sold via a Pet Shop, pet shops that do this are notorious for unethical practices, supporting back yard breeders (number one source of unwanted dogs at the pound and dogs that are not health checked for Genetic problems), and supporting puppy mills (animal cruelty and socially incompetent puppies).

You might be able to team up with someone on Petrescue in your area to help find homes for your puppies. All the puppies should be desexed before they go to new homes.

And you might want to find a vet or shelter on this list and get your dogs desexed.

You might want to do some research before you consider breeding again.

hi guys i just wanted to warn people about what happened to me in the hope that someone not as lucky as i was wont get caught ..

i have 12 curly retriever x border collie pups that were a accidental litter tho very much loved. i am keeping 1 of them but have advertised them for sale in the trading post , i got a call from the manager of pets paradise in frankstone victoria 3.5 hrs away from me saying if i was willing to bring the pups to them they would pay me my asking price plus $20 extra per pup for fuel and stuff .

so after many convos with family and doing some checking told them ok but they would have to give me a cheque on the day to pay for them not their usual cheque in the mail 3 days later as they said .. so all was agreed and my son and his mate took the pups and met the manager at a frankstone vet where the boys were told to wait outside while the vet checked the pups over.. i then got a call saying that 2 pups had heart murmers and they wouldn't take them but would take the other 9 , ok thats fine ..

in the meantime my son has most of the pups and the manager has the girl pups with him and were ment to meet at the pets paradise shop in bay city plaza. my son was having trouble finding the shop and the manager wouldnt answer his phone . because he was on the phone to me telling me the area manager said he wanted the pups checked again in a week incase any others showed signs of murmers and they would send me a cheque in a week (alarm bells were ringing loud now) luckly im friends with a small pet shop owner and he took over the call for me and found out pets paradise had ALREADY vaccinated and microchipped the 9 pups !!!!

he told the guy he had no right to do that as they had not paid for the pups or asked my permission to do so !!! and that he best send the pups back home with my son. after some arguing the pups the manager had taken were brought out to the car park with one of the female staff and a plaza security guard and given back to my son who promptly bought all 11 pups home.. 2 days later i took the pups that i had been told had murmers to a vet i didnt say anything to her and was with her while she did a thorough check of the pups befor vaccinating them and chipping them....

well what do you know NO MURMERS were detected at all and the pups were givin a clean bill of health .. so im assuming pets paradise were willing to forgo 2 pups to trick me into selling the pups to them cheaper a week later by saying that they couldnt garrentee the pups wouldnt develop murmers and that being so far away i wouldnt make the effort to come and get them and agree to the lower price they offered ... i love my puppys and was not going to leave them there and will NEVER deal with pets paradise in any shape or form ..

this was my first ever litter of pups and after this experience i think it may be my last ever litter . people like this give good and caring pet shops a bad name .. i am now selling my pups privately ... sorry for the long rant but people need to know about these things so someone dosnt get ripped off
