    Default Jackson is Lost :(

I was bitten by a wasp Friday on my foot and can barely walk, I've been taking heaps of meds for different things and have been sleeping. Dad went out this morning and I was asleep, and somewhere in the space of 3 hours Jackson has escaped out of the window again. Dad didn't realise it was open that far.

I can't help look because I can't drive or do anything. It's stressful not knowing where he is or if he's ok. Last time someone picked him up within an hour and he spent the night at the dogs home. I hope this time is the same.

He is micro-chipped, no collar. The micro chip is still in my aunts name, they needed the death certificate to change the name and because she died so close to Christmas everything is backlogged and we haven't got one yet. We only put a collar on him when we go out, and because I was home (albeit passed out in bed) it didn't get put on. Roxie is still here. Dad came home about an hour after I woke up, but because I can't walk I didn't know Jackson was missing. I had a look for him out the window but it only shows part of the backyard, there were many other spots he could have been so I assumed he was here.

    Sigh.

I just hope someone finds him and sends him to a safe place...
Just keep ringing the pound/vets/dog shelters.
Have you been in contact with the microchipping place and let them know what has happened. Who was the second contact on the microchip? Maybe contact them.
    Hope it all goes well.........

So is your dad out looking?
I would ring your local vets, pounds & shelters & tell them to be o the look out for him coming through also.
Hope he turns up, good luck.

Dad has been looking intermittently. It's been so hot today and he's not in the greatest health either.

It was 1pm when we realized he was gone, so everywhere was shut. I definitely will ring the microchip people tomorrow, that's a great idea, thanks.

Good luck finding Jackson. What a bugger. The others have already given the great advice, so we here shall just have to contribute by sending luck vibes :-)

Best of luck finding him! My mum's 3 little dogs got out a year or so ago, and while 2 were found that day, Rudy the maltese x poodle was lost for 6 long days and 5 long nights. We had almost given up hope of ever finding him, after hearing of people sighting him on train tracks, under the Eastern Freeway, and the fact that he's completely neurotic and scared of everything. He was fine though - traumatised, very skinny and lot of little cuts and bruises, but fine.

Hang in there, I know exactly how helpless you are feeling, but just keep calling the Lost Dogs home, and make sure you're in contact with your council and report him there. As far as I know, all councils (or most?) take dogs found within their boundary to the Lost Dogs Home - so just keep calling them every morning. Good luck

I rang the lost dogs home and they have him

Dad has gone to pick him up, he's also getting wood to put bars on the window and as soon as I can drive I'll go get him a tag and we'll leave his collar on all the time.

Ah so relieved. I'm interested to know where he was picked up though, if it's the same as last time.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

    So happy to hear..
I am terrible at leaving collars on dogs & am forever looking for their collars when we go for a walk. Everyone is chipped though.
    You'd be so releived.
