If you're doing the worm farm thing, don't put poo in the day after you've given the dog (or horse) wormers. My dog's poo goes bright pink so it's pretty obvious which poo not to put in the worm farm...

I have a old plastic planter pot that I line with a plastic bag and put the yard poos in that - I can't stand seeing them around either. She does tend to save up for the morning and afternoon walks - so those ones go in a plastic (biodegradable?) dog poo bag and in the bin at the venue. She has only pooped on the footpath once when she had a stomach upset and that was like a cowpat, but I picked it up as best I could.

Thinking about a worm farm but I also think I will wait till winter before making / buying one. They don't do summer well.

where i live in Melbourne we have a compost bin as part of the council bin service. I just do a daily poo patrol and put it into the compost bin, in our area it gets picked up once a week so there is no real issue with smell. Hope this helps.

Umm, can anyone explain a bit more about worm farming? What is it used for? I never thought dog poop would be suitable for that.

My dogs do it in the bush, occasionally (if they're told so) in the yard. It goes either in the bin or down the toilet. I scoop with dusting pen or plastic bag. I really really dislike using a plastic bag as it is not biodegradable. On the other side, if the poop happens to be on a softer side, which is almost never than plastic is the way to go.

I heard of some spray that you spray on poop and it disolves quicker.

I use worms but compost them with more than just dog poo, I find as long as there's enough food scraps & lawn clippings they handle the dog poo fine.

I always thought it was illegal to put it in the rubbish.
