As it happens, I do know this lady by sight (she does not know me, I dont think) as one of our more prominent local solicitors who often "advises" the shire council... She did mention the situation as being "fixed" with a bit of a grin, so I'm left with a fair impression that the idiots got put back in their box. The dog continues to remain happy and healthy with the parents...

I just couldnt get over the idea that one could expect someone to give up a family member "just like that".... makes me wonder if I could ask my neighbors to rehome their noisy kids
ROFLMAO.... I hear ya, what else could we ask neighbours to rehome?!?!?!

Glad at this stage the pooch is happily living his normal life. Please update us if anything happens, would love to know the long term outcome of the stupid people's actions!

What hide, I do aggree that it is best to try and be nice to them though, people can go looking for trouble or let things go, if they are treated very nicely and their worries addressed maybe they will turn out to be ok, some folk just worry after reading of dog attacks.

Some people are just amazing..they would be the people who get a dog and want to go on holidays, so get rid of the inconvenience. They must think pets are disposable items. it is really sad. i am glad it is resolved

Oh wow!!! That's crazy!! I would be horrified if someone did that, thankfully it wasn't my house or they would have received a very nasty letter back. How rude.

What cheek! I wish I'd be a bit like that.
I would have loved to ask my former neighbour to rehome his unspeakable wife!

    V&F

If the problem was "fixed" by suggesting the fearful uneducated parents back off - they may still take matters into their own hands. Parents will do whatever it takes in the face of a perceived (not only actual) threat. Hence their note - which informed the solicitor of their ignorance and potential threat to the dog.
