but thats what im saying, this whole discussion comes back to the BSL and ive seen it happen, in a situation where a dogs life is on the line how do you tell the difference between a pitbull and an amstaff? and some people believe (no kidding) that a "pitbull" is not actually a breed as such but a 'category' of different breeds including the amstaff, staffy, bull terrier, mastiff etc. basically any breed that has and could be used as a fighting dog. its sad but it happens, very rarely do "amstaffs" come up for adoption because most are labelled as 'pitbulls' the second they arrive.

standards are great if everyone follows them, but they dont! and even if a fault in an amstaff is a red nose does NOT mean none are born like that, some are, and how would you tell the difference??

Doesn't matter much about standards or papers in QLD now, with the recent amendment to the law any vet can veryify that your dog is an Amstaff and that means it is then legally classed as just that, BSL is stuffed.

Yep Choppa, but it is now law in QLD, that any vet can say your dog is an amstaff, so if anyone has an illegal dog they are not thinking very clearly.

And qld 'X's' are sweet now too at a state level. good time to go vet shopping in qld lol. esp before chipping at registration. Saves 300 bucks a year in bull****. Theres still ****ty subordinate local laws to contend with in the SEQ block though.
Head north where the culture is better and not so corrupt.
