Thats enough for me. Why would anyone allow a person that has 'casually' killed dogs, to own another one?
    It seems insane!
The basic story is that he ran a dog fighting ring at his house, funded it, kept the dogs on the property, watched the fights and also helped destroy the "losing" dogs" by beating, drowning, strangling, or electrocuting them.

Rehabilitated or Not, he lost the privilege of owning another dog. If he loved them as much as he said he does he would not have been in this situation AND if he didn't get caught he would still be doing it.
It said the ASPCA had complaints of dog fighting in the area years before they caught it.

I don't care how reformed he says he is. If I had to re-home my dog and he put his hand up when nobody else had, then I'd still say No.

Have been thinking on this one since the thread began. IMO any person who lacks empathy to the point of being able to inflict pain on another being in the way Vick has is likely to be seriously mentally disturbed, potentially someone with a severe personality disorder. The treatment success rates for these individuals is typically low (due to their amazing manipulative abilities and incredible inability to self reflect in a truthful manner) and the recidivism rates are appallingly high. This type of personality is often overrepresented in some public areas and is a psychiatrists nightmare.

Find a different role model is my advice. I worry not only about his ability to refrain from harming dogs, but his ability to refrain from harming any living creature (kids and family, too) is also highly questionable. To be kind to him, he probably ought to be PTS.

I know I sound callous, but I've had too much experience with these mostly irredemable personality types.

    VF,
I think you may be right actully as with further thought I think he may be a phycopath & therefore feel no guilt or need for rehabilating himself. I fear it's all just publisity for his football on his part.
I did think maybe because of his cult statis within certian communities that are prone to fighting dogs that maybe he was the only role model who would work for them. But regardless I think even if that is true he may be just too dangerous to be used in this way.
Sad really the whole thing is & I always want to give people a second chanse & didn't want to let my personal feelings & love for dogs to cloud my thoughts concerned to his rehabilation. But after many days thought I think I totally agree with you in this particular case.
