He looks like this... The colouring is similar but... He stands over 31 inches at the shoulder - that's a tall Lassie!

Or there's always the old standby: "Look at the hairy greyhounds!"

My rottie was called a labrador several times , and once Slovakian Kopov which is fine considering they have the same colour an markings.

My pekingese X whoknowswhat is regularly referred to as pekingese, although his snout looks nothing like and his huge comparing to a real pekingese. To me he resembles a little but does not look like it at all.
How does someone get a Rottie and a Lab mixed up! :O

I must confess, I quiet often have to ask. I rarely see well bred purebreeds.

    ACD x

Gets mistook for English Pointer, German Short Haired Pointer and Dalmatian and Staffy x (because of the shape of her head). And any dog that play fights with the front paws is a boxer, right?

    I think she's a crawler.

When I went to collect Villain at the airport, I was told he had not come on the 'plane... that there was "definitely no Dobermann" on that flight.

There was, however, (so they said) a black Labrador.

    You guessed it... Villain....

    BORIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mine constantly get called Labradoodles.

Seriously, it is more common these days for people to think straight away 'Labradoodle' than it is to think 'Poodle'

I have also had a couple of people think Brody is a Standard Poodle even though he is only 15 1/2 inches tall... he is just taller then Prada which is normal considering he's a dog and she's a bitch!!!

Cleo and Mischa (Miniature Pinscher) get mistaken for chihuahuas every day. They are way better looking in my opinion! One out of every...300 people knows what they are. It's Chi or 'deer.'

Jag (Bichon Frise) gets mistaken for a poodle--way bigger than a toy and wrong size and shape. He's long as opposed to tall.

Carl (staffy/norfolk terrier) has been called a Glen of Imaal before.

like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...

Natt-your Boris (am I right) is a handsome boy.

Some people called my minis as "scottish". I can understand why they did that but can't understand they kept calling him "scottish" after I corrected them. Some needs a new brain.
I love cooking but I love eating even more.

Probably more a thread for purebreds but I will pitch in anyway...

Barney (who we assume is a lab x as he is big and black, but we really have no idea) has been mistaken for a purebred lab, a rottweiler and a pitbull

Pippi (shih tzu/foxy x) is always mistaken for a maltese x, and even once for a JR

We used to have a staffy/boxer whom I was asked at least a hundred times if he was a pitbull (he didnt even look remotely like one except for the muscular build and short hair)
