    The test 'recommended' 162 dogs for me... And only 'cautioned' against about 10. When I looked at 'why'? , it said because I had selected an answer (about size preference) in a way I know I absolutely did not... I went back and checked.

    Anatolian was there for me, too, along with every other breed on the planet.... But no Dobe on EITHER list. Weird!

    There's no way on earth I'd recommend a Siberian Husky for the OP.

    She wants a dog that is:

    - Good for a dog newbie
    - Can withstand being left in the yard for long periods
    - Needs minimal training and exercise

    Sibes are definitely not a dog for a beginner or for the situation the OP has described.

    I like the Animal Planet breed selector the best;

    I just did the breed selector Hyacinth recommended, I stipulated I wanted a medium breed and it recommended an Anatolian, Dobe and Great Dane... lol not quite medium sized!

    Maybe we should tell them it's broken.

    It's a pity it doesn't have weightings for some of the answers eg choosing medium size should only include medium sized dogs. It's not like something that's a bit more wishy washy like how often you are prepared to groom your dog.

    In this one Animal Planet :: Guides :: Dog Breed Selector within my first 12 were a Bull Terrier and a Stafford. The very number one pick for me was the Anatolian. Never even thought of an AS for myself. Interesting.......in a weird dumb type of way

    Well I gotta say Anatolians would only be suitable to a very small % of poeple who take that test.
    Maybe the same Antolian breeder/lover developed both test, lol.............
