Cielodog here, not been back for a while due to...broken bones needing mending, but want to tell a story about my new ABCALERT Neo JUPITER. I've known MBM since 2000 when I bought a beautiful Neo-Bandog that I called CIELO - Heaven, because he was such a beautiful satiny BLUE. He was a mischevous fellow every bit a perfect and protective companion and loyal friend. When he died suddenly, unexpectedly at 10 yrs of age, I crumbled. It felt like miscarrying. I had a big black hole in my middle and for weeks could not stop wailing like a Jewish Mamma...(my ancestry coming out!) MBM plonked a black Neo with a white stripe in my arms and today I have JUPITER, named after the wonderful magical, mysterious planet. Last week I was very ill and delirious. Somehow I got up during the night and went to sleep outside on my CIELO'S grave, probably looking for comfort and protection in my delerium. I am 68 and live alone. Its freezing cold where I live...so wasn't a good thing lying on the ground with the frost. JUPITER, just six months of age, TRUE to his ancestry as a PROTECTIVE BREED, woke me up, pawing at me, licking my face, chewing my hands, sucking my feet, howling, nuzzling my ears with his cold nose, barking, trying to alert the neighbours....AND...he (25kg) had dragged me (85kg) across the back deck and was trying to manouvre me into the back room and into his bed! JUPI is a strong, sinuey, long legged, long bodied very athletic, agile and strong boy, so very balanced in his whole physique...with a funny wrinkly face and sloppy muzzle...every bit TRUE, even in puppyhood, to his ancient origins. MBM has to be the breeder of THE BEST! This is the second dog from her kennels that has saved my life! Thanks for JUPITER MBM! Thanks for his comical and brave relative CIELO! Although I miss my big strong blue friend...I believe I have Mr. Wonderful at my side today!

Awwwww Cielodog, that brought a tear to my eye, a beautiful story of a beautiful breed.

I know a Neo called Theo, he is blue. He comes from near Bright, Victoria, where there is a vet who breeds them. He is a lovely lad

This is what keeps me going with such a problematic breed.

You just have to love them.

Thank you CD for your post, the day I 'plonked' JUPITER in your arms the look of happiness on your face was all I needed to see.

Yes I do charge for my pups but those buyers who love their dogs and do right by me are looked after for life becau.se I know any pup going their way is going to be in a good place

LOL and you didnt wake up while a dog was doing all that?

I think MBMs dogs are just stunning, but I do find it interesting about this "standard" business. In some threads we have got people going on and on about how people should be breeding to standard, but then it is OK for some people not to? I do't get it. It's either OK or it's not.

Obviously I get why you wouldn't with Neos and I hope too that the bulldog starts being bred away from type slightly too (I love them, they are gorgeous but they just arent healthy) but I just think its interesting

Thanks everyone for the comments above...I am proud of my Neo JUPITER and am certain that there will be many wonderful experiences to come! Hello LALA Senior Member! LOL? Read again, I wrote "...woke me up pawing at me..." I may have been 'out of it' when I got outside but certainly not after JUPITER'S vigourous attempts trying to get me inside. Of course I woke up! Despite I am recovering from injury I also did my bit too to get me back inside. My point was -JUPI at 6 months is exhibiting all the protective traits of his ancestors. I do not know how a 25kg pup drags an 85kg unconscious woman several metres across the ground....but JUPI did it, so no pretty story here! Exhausted pup slept almost the whole of the next day.. probably recovering from the adrenalin rush! One really needs to experience MBMs Neos to truly understand! I am sure there will be more tales to tell of JUPI the wonderful in years to come!
