Thread: Crufts 2010

  1. #1

    Default Crufts 2010

I was watching this last night and have to say that there are quite a few breeds that I just did not realise were out there showing.Wel showing to that standard anyways. The Skye Terrier got me for example .

But lordy the Pharoah that took out its Group was just absolutely, positively devine! She even got the hubbies vote of approval Truely she was just perfect!
However the Cardigan Corgi that took its Group ( in my humble opinion) was not really much of a dog at all .
And of course the darlin Yogi ( Gundog) that took out Best in Show , quite a fitting night to announce his retirement and all :

Makes me curious as to what exactly it is the Judges are looking for or is it really just down to a Judges personal preferance ?

Makes me almost....almost.....interested in Showing again

Love the ears on those Pharoah's some big eared kelpies almost have that look too, would have liked to see that show.
Have never shown but have competed in a few pro sports events and love it.

Buetiful Pharoah Hound but to get into showing again NO WAY, lol..............
I am too old for self torture this days & my dogs just hate it.
That said I use to have the bug bad & my pedigree dogs are pointed but I just got sick of breed standards & what it was doing to certain breeds. Actully not the standard fault but the bozo's who interprit it to mean a dog can not be born naturally anymore due to crazy sized heads compared to bodies etc.
But I too watch crufts & there where some great dogs but some that had me rolling my eyes as well, lol.................

Yep Mini,I'm usually an Agility nut but after seeing that I almost was tempted! I havnt seen a kelpie with that type of ear, would love to though.

I know Crazy,it usually turns my stomach as well what some breeders have done/are doing all in the 'best interest of the breed'. ppffft......
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who looked at some of those dogs and wondered how the hell did they get placed ?!

I watched CRufts too and there were some gorgeous dogs,

Yogi the Viszla (sp) was just a beautiful looking animal, and I dont usually like that breed. I have a friend with two Viszlas and they ar emuch finer boned than yogi, though they are both females so that could explain it.
