    Yeah people are holding onto their sheep this year if they can, cos the price of sheep are going to be high next year around march and April.

    If the sheep got cancer or fly blown are shot at the sale yards. But ones with broken legs are sent to be made into pet food.

    Sheep prices are unbelievable at the moment, I got nearly $100 4 an old mutten sheep the other day, last year I bought same type sheep 4 $35..................

    It's the unknown downed cattle I worry about, they get away with saying they are just old or buggered legs etc & who knows what is really wrong. This rules changes from state to state some what also & different sheds follow which rules they must & dodge what they can. I have worked for many in marketing & earlier on the floor. I also was a CALM accesser & have worked at different feedlots.

    Top price for a merino ewe last week was $97, and the top price for crossbred lambs was $125.50

    Yeah I dont know what they do with cattle only sheep.

    I know what happens at the yards here cos OH the manger for one Of livestock companies ere..
