yet another, i am afraid there are many poeple breeding these sort of crosses.
    Pigging isn't my thing.
    Thanks for those links.
Some of those pics look familiar. But I guess it's also a guessing game as well
working in a shelter we are seeing more of these types of crosses.
A lot coming in as pups.

I am not surpriced, I know of 1 breeder who say you only keep the top 20%. When asked what happens to the rest, he says he'd rathewr dump them or shot them as they are not good as pets . And get tghis he dose not want tp pass on infieror pups to other hunters as he might get a bad name. He is not so bright but many are not the brightest.
I found 3 pups clinging to a concrete cause way about to be washed away & toke them to the vet. Later that day the ranger found 2 more at the scout hall & another 3 out a dirt road on the edge of town, they where all litter mates.
Alot of these crosses are being destroyed daily in NW rural NSW, it's very very sad as they can make pets but better still they should never have been breed in the first place.

Its all well and good saying give every dog a chance (and I fully agree I am working at a shelter at the moment and its heartbreaking) but you have to understand as well that most of the breeds today were created like this, killing the pups that showed no herding/hunting/working ability and keeping the rest. Giving good pups out only breeding with the good workers and healthy dogs, and I know of many many farmers out there who do this as well. I do not condone this but you have to understand that some people were raised a little differently. It's all about education not telling them THAT IS WRONG! Giving them the options of what to do with the puppies they don't want

Oh I have given him opitions & I am not a pro life nut in anyway although I do give every dog a chanse.
I really belief you can not tell enough @ 12wks & thats when he culls. I have keep dogs that I thought would not be of a standard to put my name too & had a couple prove me very wrong. It just is too young to tell enough to cull in my opinion so really has no purpose at all.

I'm sorry, but we live in 21st century, isn't culling a bit... khhm barbaric? You can desex and have those "no good" for pets. Every creature deserves life, it's not their fault they're not good enough in breeders eyes.
Respect and you shall be respected. Animal is always right.

Yes culling by death is as every dog deserve a chanse as I have said & even if you where for it as if you can tell at 12wks. I do beleive in culling by desexing & removing the undesirable from breeding stock.
have just reread prev posts & I do not want anyone to think I beleive in culling by death or killing a dog for any reason other then when it becomes totally unavoible which is very rare but dose happen. Like livestock killers that just keep coming back & dogs that are just beyond help with illness just for example.

Great Aussy dog resulting from bobtailed cattle herding dogs that where coming in on ships with livestock in coloinal times.
I have attached a few pics also.
My sisters partner has a young bitch at the moment who he is training on sheep & we would love to hear of any lines we do not already know about. So if your've ever seen 1 or know of somone who breeds them let me know.

I just learned about a "new guinea singing dog"

Looks like a dingo but is um genetically more ancient?
