someone sent me an email with a site to sign a petition attached, don't see it on here so will post it.
I have sent it on to many of my contacts even though one does wonder what the other side of the story is, thing is the animals are apparently going to be put down without PH so I rather think it has to be the better alternative?

Sorry I really need to know more before I sign!!!!!!
If they're closed are ALL the cats being PTS?
Are Pet Haven willing to give some cats to other shelters to lighten their load?
What housing do they have & for how many animals?
What is their rehoming record like?
Is overcrowding & a few messed up micro chips the ONLY problem?
Are the cats getting regular acces to vets & meds?
What plans do they have to address the over crowding & poor paperwork?
I think councils can target some rescues with no real cause & if that is the case here I am all for signing & passing it around but I have seen rescues that need shutting down for the animals own welfare. So please would love some more info....................................

If they were doing anything very wrong surely the RSPCA would have intervened? then they would have taken the animals surely?

Or maybe that is too much like common sense.

I signed because they are going to put the animals down that they cannot move within a week, so what do you do if a few more animals need rehoming than you can rightly carry?

Put them down? or take them and then hope to get them homes or fostered out fast ?

I prefer people who would try to do the latter, a bit of over crowding for even a week or two is preferable to being killed in my book, but then I an not a fanatic, just like to see an animal in trouble rehomed if possible and why assume the worst and leave those animals to die when none of us seem to have any facts about the place anyway .

Waiting for Johnthan to reply as he seems to have first hand knowledge.
I wont be signing anything, heard last week that Lost Dogs Home would be helping if needed.
    Info seems slow.

No sorry nothing is sure especaily when talking RSPCA & councils.
I signed because they are going to put the animals down that they cannot move within a week, so what do you do if a few more animals need rehoming than you can rightly carry? Well it dose matter if it has gone on for a long time & we really do not even know what the problems are.

Put them down? or take them and then hope to get them homes or fostered out fast ?Sometimes you just have to admitt the centre is ll full up & look to other rescues etc to help.

This is my point we have no facts & I'd be happy to think about signing if someone would answer my questions so I could sign really knowing what I am signing.

I am sorry I am no fanatic of anything & I do my bit to help rehome but I am afraid there are animals living in so called rescues with conditions best discribe as a dingy jail so I really need to know if this 1 is legit.
I am not saying they are doing anything wrong but would just like my questions answered before I sign.

While there maybe things left out of what is behind this closure the points they do mention which I cut and pasted in bold print from their site, does not seem reason enough to close the place right now when it is at it's busiest.

They said they Pets Haven are a pro life shelter and they bypass having to murder innocent animals, by homing the majority in foster care. If this is true many animals would not even be in the shelter.

they say are closing the shelter so they can audit the books and have told Pets Haven staff and management that they are unsure if Pets Haven will be allowed to reopen???? could this be just a case of some wee beaurocrat flexing muscle, surely they would not put lies on a public petition about reason for the clusure ?

They allege that Pets Haven have been issued with a temporary permit only to run a shelter, but cannot tell Pets Haven when this apparently has expired, nor has Pets Haven received information regarding this, before this day.

Again would they put this on the net if it is not true.

At this point in time, in the absolute busiest time of the year, they have forced the closure of one of the only Pro Life shelters in Victoria

Would this be true, if so there may be nowhere else for the animals to go

    sorry but who are THEY??
Why wont the guy from pets haven who posted here answer my questions?
Also I am not pro life for every single stray animal as I find dangerous dogs end up homed with a young family. Sometimes it is very sad but you can not save them all. I have been guilty of trying but have learnt from past blunders that sometimes the animal has suffered more in the longrun.
I am not saying these poeple are bad just need more info............
