    I didn't name my current two, but they are 'Villain' and 'Flirtt'. I'm sure noone out there needs an explanation on meaning, lol. Villain is 'Flamin' Villain'. Both dogs named by breeders. I call them 'the crook and the hussey', or 'Bogey and Bacall', occasionally 'Humph and Loz' ( for those old enough, lol ). Villain generally gets 'Villi' when not working, and Flirtt gets 'Floozy'.

    I prefer dog names that aren't human ones. Previously our family have had Kealan, Kiera, Francie, Imala ( dark one ) and Morgaine the Irish Wolfhounds ( I didn't name them either ), Kurgon the Dobe ( from the old movie 'The Highlander' ), Ruffael and Khorann the Afghan hounds, and Memphis and Texas the Kelpie X's ( I named those four ).

    Cool names, I also liked the name Angel or Angleina but my uncles dogs name is angel don't really want to take some other dogs name. I loved lady like myfs dog but my brother didnt like it. And shelby but I think shelby would have been for a small dog, if we do get a another dog we will be thinking of adopting a jack russell form RSPCA and I want to call her shelby but I choice Zoey's name =-}

    My first rescue, Carl, came with the name. I adopted him from the place I work. He responded to the name from day 1 and I've never met another dog with his name so I kept it! However we do get asked a lot if he's named after Carl Williams - and I had no idea who he was! He has tons of nicknames: Boo, Carlie Bob Marley Bear (and any combination of those words!), boof/head, buggalugs, bub, etc.

    I named Mischa when we got her (I was 12). Not after Mischa Barton, either! Also a common question! Her show name was 'Prick Ears Mitzie' and our neighbours had a dog called Mitzie so I came up with Mischa. I was studying German at the time.

    Jag (aka Jaeger) was agreed on mutually by me and my sister. That name's been on my shortlist of dog names for years.

    I named Cleo as well, short for...nothing! She was named after the GSD my aunt had while I was growing up. I loved that dog! Unfortunately, modern-Cleo is nothing like her--total wimp!

    Our birds were/are named Sid, Jake, Cody and Ava (only two alive still). Horses are Duke and Kitkat. Our mice have been named Alice (after Alice Cooper ), Marilyn (after Marilyn Manson), Genevieve, Gracie, Emma, Rosie.

    like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...

    Hey Villan and Flirtt I have a pup named The Kurgan.

    Otherwise I have Boris, Sonya and Ursula. Boris and Sonya's names just suited them, they are different to their registered names. Ursula was named by her breeders and it suited her.

    The Kurgan, well... he's cute now. But will be large and black and imposing for most of his life so hopefully it will suit him. He does get called The Gherkin sometimes though...

    ROFLMAO.... we called our Kurgon "Gherkin", too. As well as "Kergie Wergie", poor guy.
