    ooo, I see. Kala, you have made me feel better cause I heard spaying would close the growth plates early and this would effect there activity/them being able to run around and that.

    can both of you post photo's of your pups please!.

    Defintely not! My dogs are high drive working dogs and they have most definitely not been affrected!
    Here are photos of some of my bitches all spayed around 8 months old

    Studies have shown that males will become 'leggier' is desexed before sexual maturity. Testosterone tells the body to stop growing and closes the growth plates, so if you desex before puberty, the body will just keep growing the little bit extra and be leaner than average.
    Im not sure about females though.

    I posted a couple of photos of my Kelpie in a thread today called 'definition on perfection'.
    But heres my other boy, he's a 12 year old Jack Russell X.

    Kala its true, it does close growth plates, but im pretty sure only in males
    It doesn't affect their ability to do anything though, they are just like any other normal dog.
