I thought it was kinda funny.

    Sorry, that was off topic
More often than not I''ll tell people Griffens a French mastiff. It's easyer than saying dogue de bordeaux 5 times while the person looks at you confused saying 'd-what?'

Sadly hip and elbow dysplasia is a big problem with ddbs even with registered breeders.

I assumed that would be easier. I bet most viewers would spend the whole episode thinking "wait, what did they say the breed was?"

Im sure there are registered breeders that don't hip score, but majority would have too..surely. Its up to the potential owner to ensure they are testing.

It's not so much that they dont score, even with scoring it's a problem. Although popularity is growing they're still a pretty rare breed.

Sorry should have added that most breeders I've looked at do score.

Stick to French mastiff its much easier. Whenever i use Neapolitan mastiff people assume its colour related (like the ice cream), i always fall back on Italian mastiff.

Awesome dog... This is the dog breed I am most likely to get in the next 6 or so months.. Hope they get along well with Labradore's!

    I love dogues!!!

Ever since I saw turner and hooch when I was a kid, I have wanted one. Although, at the time I didnt know it was a breed and thought they had just picked a dog from a pound for the role.

I only found out about 6 years ago they were an actual breed and I was so excited....they are definitely on my "to have" list for the future.

The pics of the boy in this thread are just gorgeous...he is making me go all smooshy inside
