    Default Joint Problems and remedies??

Hi there-My 12year old American bulldog has been experiencing allot of joint pain as of late, especially when out and about being active..
Friends of mine have suggested a Liquid joint care Glucosamine and Chondroitin product that go's by the name Flexicose Plus
Liquamax Pty Ltd home of Flexicose Australia .. that worked wonders for their aging dog.
The product seems to be relatively new on the market here in OZ sold here for a few years, though quite popular in the State's in terms of joint care offered in liquid form as apposed to powder.
I was gearing up to try it out on my Dog, though was wondering if anyone has tried it with any success out there?

Sorry, I haven't tried it. But I would recommend a heated or water bed for your dog. You can buy them from most pet stores, they really help with joint pain.

No I havent but would also be interested. I use Sashas blend. You also might like to consider a course of 4 injections of Cartrophen. This can sometimes make a lot of difference in some dogs. It works really well on my dysplastic dog.

I have heard of Sashas blend too.

For our dobe x bull terrier, we used to take her to the vet for an injection, not sure what it was, and it really helped her.

Also make sure the bed is nice and soft and not on concrete or something hard - I think if it's raised it will be better. We had an old baby cot mattress for our dog.

As for the liquid, if the powder works fine then I don't see why the liquid wouldn't. If it isn't expensive and not harmful, I say just try it. If it doesn't work, you can try something else.

    Good luck!

I have been told that a product made frm Green Lipped muscles called Sea Tone works wonders, you can get that from most health shops or even your local IGA, some say even a very old dog reacts very well to it, well worth a try can do no harm

I've never tried it. But here are some natural remedies for joint pain:

    Rhus Toxicodendron
    Glucosamine
    Methyl-sulfonyl-methane
    Omega-3 Fatty Acids
    Weight Reduction
    Feverfew

I don't know about the medications, but swimming used to help my old BC, the main thing is not to let them get cold
