Thread: Kelpie Cross (insert Another Breed Here)

Default Kelpie Cross (insert Another Breed Here)

THis is my Kelpie cross Roxy, she is 2 years old now and stands 57 cm at the shoulders. When I first got her, they said she was Kelpie cross Kelpie/Cattle. There is no doubt she is Kelpie, but I'm not sure about the cattle dog bit, she might have a bit of cattle and her long hair might be a throwback from somewhere? or the cattle dog might have been a koolie? or bc. Oh well, I'll let you all decide..

Ask a Border Collie to jump and it'd say, "how high?", ask a Kelpie and he'll ask, "why?"

    57cm! She's tall as!
What does her fur feel like? Smooth? Wirey? Fluffy?

Hmmm, they'd have to be a super tall Border Collie and Kelpie. The average for both breeds is about 50cm.

I know a few border collies that are jumping 600 ie they are tall.

That would be my guess or x shaggy GSD. Or x lassie dog (Collie).

Not at all sure of the cross except the kelpie certainly is dominant.
    Very pretty dog though!

Can see the kelpie but not sure on the other. The height would probably rule out an ACD, the girls are usually around 45-48cms.

My Koolie is 57 cms tall and my working bred Border collie is 56 cms and I have friend whose male kelpie is 54.5 cm tall. These dogs are all male although I have friend whose female working bred BC is 54.5cm but that is tall for a girl. Huntaways are bigger dogs so mayabe there is huntaway in there. Some kelpies do have longer coats, my friends red cloud has a long coat.

    She has a lovely face!
