    I agree with that.

Also I have pet insurance so my pets can incur $8k worth of damage before it comes down to money for me. I hope I never have to use it but it is good for peace of mind.

    Default Quality of Life

I recently had to put to sleep my 11yr old labrador. He had chronic arthritis and I probably spent, easy $5,000 in the last 2 years of his life. I am a single mother, so I understand the value of money, how ever I did everything to keep my Nelson comfortable in his last years. I guess the question I asked myself each time he was at the vet, was "Will he still have a good quality of life?" You'll know at the time, whether you can afford the treatment, so I don't think I could have put a money value on it.

It's a hard decision when they don't have a terminal illness, but I guess it comes down to being able to let go of your needs from your pet/companion and making sure you come through for them when they need you at the end.

I probably didn't answer your question, but this has been my experience, hope it helps

Through Bow Wow Meow. Most companies I looked at had similar premiums and benefits.

If you have health insurance for yourself you can get it through Medibank as well, I think.

we worried about this too when we first got our Jax coz I knew the moment I first held him that I would do anything for him.

So we too have pet insurance to help take the sting out of any future medical bills he might incur.

having said that; i also agree that quality of life would play a big part in any decisions we made...although in the end it might be up to my oh to decide as i think am too selfish to ever be able to let him go!!!
