Default Does Anyone Run with Their Dog(s)?

So does anyone else run with their dog? I used to separate my exercise and that of the dogs since they couldn't keep up, but for some reason when I tried on Monday they lasted for an hour! I'm thrilled because combining my exercise with theirs gives me a little more time in the day and it's a great bonding experience. Nothing like running with your best pals in the dark when it's rainy and cold! Makes me feel more protected, too, since it can get a bit creepy.

I bought rain jackets a few weeks ago (mostly for Mischa since she's a princess) but apparently neither of them mind getting wet anymore! I'm thoroughly impressed with Carl; he has such short legs, so for him to keep up takes effort.

like a rolling thunder chasing the wind...

I envy you that you can run. I can't keep up with my dogs if we ever run together. Mind you they are small dogs!!!! I can walk hours though.

I can only jog with my dog because if I run she bounces infront of me!!! So I am trying to train her to run beside me by jogging and keeping her on a short lead. We can run with her off - leash though.

Yup Rox and I run and bike together. She's a freak of nature though and has an infinite supply of energy.

Just be careful, once you start taking them they're going to expect it all the time!!

Not me, I'm a MTB rider so dogs get a jog next to the bike every now and again. ( age dependant )

I'm not much of a runner, sprints sure, but not jogging.
If you find yourself going through hell; Don't stay. Just keep on going.

I've got dirt bikes so the dogs love to chase them, but i normally walk them (its safer for me LOL).

My mother used to run with Blue her border collie but found he would stop to sniff too much with her.

My husband runs with Ziggy. It's him that can't keep up with her! She does enjoy the 'run' though. She's pretty good at keep out of his way, most of the time anyway.
