    Default Bones

    Hi all,
Apollo has sort of settled down after his disasterous kennel/training adventure.
Problem is he is chewing anything and everything. I thought he had grown out of it, but apparently not. Somehow he (I) lost his kong and now he chews sticks, plam branches, the walls, anything. I have ordered some new kong toys, but they are taking forever to get here.
I would like to get him some big bones to chew on, but am unable to find anywhere around Brisbane that sells large thigh bones or anything of the like. I would appreciate any suggestions on where to get these thypes of bones.
    Thanks.
    Matt

RSPCA super store in Logan near ikea will probably have them. I know for sure that the pet stores in paddington and ashgrove have huge bones regularly. I don't know whereabouts you are but they're definitely available in brisvegas if you look around. Ops luck!

All woolworths sell marrow bones but they sometimes cut them in 2's.

the breeder of my new pup said that brisket bones are the best (rib or something like that) because the bone is softer then leg/thigh bones and they can/MAY break their teeth on thigh bones (havent heard it happen but can see it happening due to the toughness of a leg bone) anyway hope this helps?

+1. Just ask them if you can't find anything. Ours are in a freezer by in dark plastic bags, so not easy to notice and you get a big assortment of bones.
I actually won't buy the thigh bones anymore as months after I gave it to Kimba I found it buried in my bed...

Ours is a small butcher, the only one in our small town. I ring a few days before I am going in to see if he will hold some for me. Picked up 2 huge boxes yesterday. He also cuts them for us.

We get ours from the butcher too, Blue normally doesn't eat them, but Peg loves them, we go for the big marrow bones but keep them whole, it keeps her amused while we are out and there have been times when she's tried to bring them on walks.
