Default Talk About Keeping the Vet in Business!

Ok so this is a long story and by the time I am through this week my family and I would have given our new vets thousands...
Ok so we went to them to get our Tibbies eyes taken out.
Some of you might remember my brother and his old Whippet Kia who got the big C.
Then it was my other brothers whip who is Kias sister, she had skin cancers too but not as bad so we were able to cut them off.
So then I get Sam desexed.
    Then I get Sophie desexed.
Then yesterday they hit the jackpot!! The Tibby we rescued, who I think has more than a little cav in her, got a fright, jumped off the couch, landed funny and SCREAMED. She has broken her leg. So while they were fixing that we got her desexed, she was already under so why not.
AND my sisters horse got hit with a really bad colic. So not only did we pic some stuff up for her from the vet, she then had to call him out, and now this morning she has had to take him in because he is still not right.
And I think my father is going to have to take his old whip, who is the brother of Kia and Rip, in to get his skin checked out again because he could have cancers too
All in all that was three trips to the vet and one housecall yesterday. And not counting the vaccinations, consults and such that we have given them this year they have made a fortune off us!! That is the BIGGEST downside to having so many dogs, when it rains it poors and sucks your bank dry while its at it!!
I would be a very rich person if I didnt have animals!
And on top of that my mother is going into surgery tomorrow.
Yep I am feeling a tad stressed.

Every cloud has a silver lining, you need to think positive...

I know it easier said than done.. Buts its helped me a few times

Think of all the doggie lives your saving..
And all the people youve brought a little happiness to..

Good things come to those who wait..
Your not a bad person, things will turn around soon

Thank you guys. I am not so down about this just a little stressed. I have had worse runs, ones where I was broken to the point of wonder why the hell I bother. BUT I just have to look at the love that every dog I own has for me and I know. This is not one of those times, this is minor compared to when we had parvo run through out kennels because some d!ckhead poodle breeder sold us a bitch with pavo and didnt own up to it. That was bad, we lost a litter and two other young/new bitches that was almost a thousand for every dog we tried to save. When the vet did testing he said it was a strain that he had not incounted but was reported to be more deadly.
Looking back we think that maybe there were signs, like the way he barrier nursed his puppies, but we didnt see them at the time. If we can get duped like that I think anyone can.
That was bad, this is nothing. More gripping/showing people just how much it can cost Its all just part of owning animals and I might not be rich in terms of money but I am happy for the rich, love-filled life I lead.

Yes we have had runs like that here too. Makes you want to rip your hair out and re-consider if it's all worth it, but since it always is you stick with it.

Vets are not my favourite people, more a necessary evil. What they charge, with most giving no discount to breeders regardless of the fact that they will get repeat business from us is disheartening.

I hope this rough patch settles down soon.

Sucks when it all hits at once! Guess we pet people should always have a slush fund handy. Is the vet going to take you for a ride in his/her new car?

    Thank you guys
Re our tibby girl. She poped an eye, it healed but later down the tract it got infected. And at the same time she got into a scrap with a stupid fox which scratched her other eye and the infection spread. It was stupid, we dont get many foxes anymore because of the dogs but this one was hiding in our shed and Scout just happened to be the one to find it The vet cleaned her up and now she is doing really well.
