Default Jodi and Bandit Are Being Boarded.

We are going away the first week in July, with my older son and family. Younger son did not want to go and was going to come out here to look after all animals and birds. He is still not brilliant with his back so I have managed to get Jodi and Bandit boarded at a spanking brand new pet resort in Griffith. I have not seen the place but there is heating/cooling, inside to outside separate runs though they will be boarded together. Being new I suspect they will be well cared for as word of mouth means a lot. I also have someone in Griffith who will visit during this time and report back to me.
I am so relieved to get them in this late. This time away by the ocean with the grandies is my hey I am in remission present and I was so afraid that if I felt my pets would not be looked after well then I would not be going.
Pretty is more than content to hang around and be checked once a day, as are the cats who when we are away are fed outside. If Jase does come out then it will be easy for him to do all this. The birds will either be here with him or in their 3ft long holiday cage and in at a friend's. Worst case scenario is that they come with us.

We have hubby's father or a couple of neighbours who have seen to the animals in the past and I am content to leave them in their care.

    Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Birds will be going to my friend's place who has had them before. Pretty had the nasal spray kennel vacc today just to bring her up to speed too in case she will need to be boarded. Due to everything going on we were a bit slack with this one and needles would have had to be started again if she did not tolerate the nasal way. Vet said many dogs hate it and do not co operate...she was as docile as a lamb. We do not intend boarding her really, as with pups away safely she seems fine alone here with daily checks or over on the other farm. I feel happier though knowing she is kennel ready should it have to happen.
Cats are quite happy with daily outside feeding.

Lovely feeling to know that all will be well with them. Leads to a more relaxing time away.
In my confirmation email from the new pet resort they attached 2 pics of their inside set up as they have not yet put them up on new website.

Don't stress too much! (I always do when I leave the animals behind)

Close to 15 per day per dog Myf.

Hubby has today purchased 3 rolls of dog mesh. The 5x4mtr pen is to be extended to 30x15mtrs or more, encompassing the disused but in great condition garden shed. They will have unwanted and unused lounge chairs in there, more toys etc. Soooo much room to romp and play, 2 huge shady trees, its own water supply. We are going away again in late august and the 3 will be in there with daily checks and feeding.

    I am in 7th heaven.

Sounds like a great relaxing time away with the furless family. We had a night away recently with my in remission sister-in-law and the whole in-law family. It was just so nice to forget the bad and enjoy the good. It really made a big difference to her recovery. She had the whole week away and had different people who had supported her through her cancer journey stay for one night at a time. Enjoy

You enjoy yourself Di, Lord knows you deserve it!!!!

The kennel sounds wonderful and I agree with Myf, sounds very reasonably priced as well. We would expect to pay up to $25 per day here in Melbourne!!

Pics of where the new pen will be.
Existing night pen and corner of the shed that will be their palace..old sofa chairs for beds.

The shed, the door is star posted so the cat would not be locked in or bang too much in the wind. Cat no longer uses it, nor do we.

And out the other side, running down to also encompass the big tree. Burrs will be sprayed.

The three will then be able to be in here with daily checks anytime we are away after this. Will have its own water supply too as the existing pen does.
