    Default Water While Exercising

I've been taking a bottle of water to the park for Roxie, just a standard 600ml bottle, however she drinks ALL of it. Is this normal?

I always put my stuff down and we play, but when she wants a drink she goes over and nuzzles and licks the bottle, so I give her some. She doesn't drink it all in one go, it's generally around three or four separate serves at different intervals.

She only weighs about 8kg. I've also noticed her tongue sort of expands. Not, it's going to choke her, but the tip definitely gets bigger. She doesn't have any trouble breathing, or barking though.

I'm not overly worried about it, I just think it's a little strange that she drinks that much. Any thoughts?

My 23kg ACD x doesn't drink anything like that much when we're out.

She drinks a bit when we get home, she might have drunk 300ml tonight - but that's unusual for her, then again she had been eating naughty stuff like BBQ fat and sand (football club - don't ask).

Mostly when we're out, I'm lucky if I can get her to drink more than 200ml.

You might want to have this discussion with your vet.
Does your dog drool a lot?
Does she only drink a lot when exercising?
    Does she seem ok otherwise?
Does she pee a lot - it would seem reasonable for a dog that likes to mark territory would need to drink more. Mine doesn't mark (yet). Some female dogs do mark over every pee spot they can find.

She doesn't drool at all. I've been watching her the past few days, and she barely drinks during the day. I think she just takes it all when she really needs it.
Other than that she is fine. She doesn't pee a lot surprisingly. She has a ridiculously big bladder, and she rarely goes when we're out.

I think she'll be ok, it's just one of those Roxie mysteries! Lol.

    Thanks for the help
