It is after all proper spelling. Proof reading is a good idea otherwise it may show that you seem uneducated.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

I find it disrespectful to first of all, point out a minor grammatical error, without contributing any kind of advice or anything even closely related to the topic and second of all, to be a new member, and point out a minor grammatical error of anyone.
I see it as a stranger someone coming into your home and telling you that the beds have been made wrong.

ETA: Is the forum trying to start a fight ffs? I spelt 'two' like 'too' in a rush of typing. Big deal! You guys must be really bored tonight.

Myf considering how you wrote the email in a 'start a fight' 'type way originally I don't see where you come off getting narky at anyone else.

Too and Two not a big deal I agree.

    Because of the context?
I wrote the email in quick frustration. No thorough thought processed or put into it.
And was it to anyone on the forum? No, it wasn't.

    Now I am getting narky...

    Myf, you asked "huh?"

I answered you, so you weren't wondering WTF they meant. Can't see how that is starting a fight???

DA, it wasn't directed at you.

Besides, I have seen much, much, much, much worse grammar on this forum and no one picks it up.

I'm curious to know how they know your age as 22? If all you wrote is what you have listed here, there is something else going on.

Regardless, they are being as belittling as you were being beligerent.

You catch more flies with honey, and if I was a business, I would be mighty affronted to receive an email like yours. BYB's may be the lowest form of animal husbrandry there is, but remember, it is not illegal, so you may want to take your stance up with your local MP as well.

Personally, I would not be bothering with any response where the first line is an apology - anything you write after that point will be lost. Keep your apology to the end of you response, make it brief, succinct and genuine.

Keep your emotions under control - there is no point going in half-cocked with emotionally charged statements that this twit is going to be able to shoot holes in and still come back to goad you with more point scoring against your age and emotional ties to the issue.

Do a bit of googling on how to write a business letter; you will pick up a lot of useful tactics to put to work.

And, yes, make sure you do run a spell AND a grammar check over your work. If you want to be taken seriously, then make sure your written English is spot on. Make sure your letter is correctly formatted - if you are going to send it in an email, you can still write it as if you are writing any other business letter. Keep your paragraphs to the point, and each paragraph should contain no more than 4 - 6 sentences. Don't construct sentences that contain more than 2 commas.

Finally, I don't think a witty comeback is the most apporpriate thing to do - unless your point is to only reinforce how young and emotionally wrought you are. Be factual, don't make sweeping generalisations, don't make personal attacks. Or no doubt he will continue to laugh at you.

I am the member with only 7 posts. I check here everyday, and have learnt a lot from the forums. I only post a Q if I cant find it already answered (nothing worse than seeing the same Q over and over), I have only posted answers when I think I have something different to offer. I am not a big poster re my day/or happy sad things. More interested in info to help me care for our dog. TBH, I quite often dont agree with some of the opinions on more controvertial topics- and tend to stay clear of them.
    I am a terrible speller.

However- to send a complaint letter to a business with incorrect spelling and typos is unprofessional and gives them an excuse not to take you seriously.

I did not mean to offend, just pointed out your mistake so you could correct it.

And thats enough defending and justifying from me.

I've just read this and it seems to be one of those posts where people just start getting narky. Sweetboy may have meant nothing by the spelling comment but I do think it was unnecessary to point it out when the majority of people in this country can't spell properly. I also think that OP's response about someone not being entitled to post a response because of the amount of posts they have made is ridiculous. OP how many posts (good or bad) does a person have to have to be eligible to post a reply?
