I hear you Federa re the emotion, it can be very distressing at times

RWL have had quite a few dogs with cancer and succesfully had it removed to offer the best quality of life. They are easily rehomed with full disclosure to the adopting family and are all going strong in gorgeous homes with devoted owners.

As long as cancer has not spread into lungs and major organs the surgery is done. We have had dogs with grade 5 heart murmers who have been given no time to live who are still kicking goals and in the best homes imaginable...

    I adore the oldies!

Francis is home with me and doing very well. I bathed him again and still the fleas come...new fleas that are hatching. We should be on top of it now.

Francis ate all his dinner, steamed chicken, rice, veges and stock.

He is a dear soul and slowly emerging as he is feeling better. Yesterday afternoon i got my first "Tail wag" which reduced me to tears, he has started cleaning himself which is also a good sign.

Francis slept like an angel all night. I slept next to him as i was unsure as to how he would go, but not a peep He is very cosy in his bed and simply a delight to care for.

Today we will visit the vet to get a better idea of his overall health, will let you know how he goes.

Here are some pics of his first day here

Billy, he looks fine, after being taken care of. I mean, fine for such terrible case of neglect. You can see on his face that he feels much better, he will recover, I really do believe!!!

Oh Federa, that is heartbreaking....she is absolutely gorgeous

Well we have just returned from the vet and things are looking better and better. Heartworm negative *grin* ears have imrpoved out of site along with his eyes.

He has cateracts on both eyes so has quite marked vision loss....we can look at that once his health improves.
A mild heart murmer...nothing concerning though.

He has lost an enormous amount of blood through the flea infestation...time along with good food and treatment is the healer there.

Now that he is flea and worm free he should improve markedly, if not we will pursue full bloodwork.

So he is now up to date with his vacc's and treatments and is having a lovely snooze in the sunshine on the outdoor lounge on the deck, only his nails need doing now, which i will do in a minute.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and support everyone, Francis and I are very grateful

I thought i would pop the link here for Rescued With Love. If you click on the dog diary you will be able to follow Francis' journey and recovery

Francis is doing incredibly well and is the most delightful little man. I am so very humbled with his determination to live and his choice to rise above the actions of the hideous people who are responsible for the neglect that nearly killed him.

    Go Francis!
