Thread: How to Tell if Desexed

I read posts on here and think to myself.. don't bother answering... but I have to say something here....

Is this for real...... You have taken on a stafford via third party, with all paperwork signed.. and have a dog of you own... and the staffod has had at least one fight that you know off..... this must be a joke....

let alone the 'is he desexed statement' ... if the dog has indeed been in a fight the first stop should have been the vet... he will need to be seen to for the fight... vaccinations and microchips will need to be checked....

Still think this is a stir up!!!

    I feel the same way...

as you well know Kimbastaff we both will be shot down for our opinions in regards to this thread...

I find it rather rude of a member to say my feelings & despair in regards to our beloved breed being unwanted by their owners are unjustified etc. I think i have a right to express my concerns about how i feel about my chosen breed, i will defend & continue to express my concerns about the welfare of my breed until the day i die & no one will or can stop me either.

Any dog can have been in a fight, whether or not it was the dogs fault, as well as not being clear on whether desexed or not (read eariler post re undescended testicles).

The OP asked a pretty simple question. if you don't have any intention of answering it with useful advice then move to the next thread. It doesn't have to turn into a gossip-mongering session.

I once took on a greyhound that was deemed by some to be not suitable for rescue, too aloof, not friendly. He was "desexed" according to the pound, and had some impressive battle scars so looked like a fighter. He was NOT desexed, had two internal testes. And he was the most fiercely devoted greyhound I have ever known - an amazing family dog. It took two weeks to win him over and then he melted. No he would not back down from a fight if it was in his face but that was just him. More like a Rottie in temperament than your average greyhound, but amazing nontheless.

Was he worthy of rescue? You bet your bum he was.

Slow down on the value judgements based upon little to no information.

not picking on anyone... just stating facts.... yes any dog can get into a fight... but a stafford is not just any dog... once they have had a fight issues can arrise that need special attention... I'm entitled to an opinion... and I'm entitled to view it... if you don't like you can also move on to the next thread... I am concerned for the dog if the facts are correct as stated.... as far as judgements being made with little or no information... I can only judge the information as given...

didnt know if the dog was desexed... dog has been in a fight... dog has been handed over with all paperwork... she has a male dog already.... what have I been missinformed of...

No where did I state the dog was not worthy of rescue... I would however be wary of anyone who has a male dog taking on a male staffords with no experience with the breed..

Sorry if I offended anyone, now I know why I don't bother to repond to most posts... not worth the bull****...

i think everyone is entitled to their own opinions and to express their opinions. however it is the MANNER that some members on here express their opinions.

if your advice is not constructive and you cannot say what you want in a respectful way dont say anything at all.

Again I mean genarally and am not pointing fingers rather addressing things that are brought up in a range of posts.
But threads on here have a tendency to head in certain unpleasant directions lately - and that slide into unpleasantness doesn't come from an individual or from one post.
