Whoever said to pop into the vet and get them to check for you is offering good advice. won't cost anything, and you'll learn something in the process.

    Anything would help.

    Thank you
Hey Naomi, I know you're probably not still around...

But yes, a male dogs can appear to have no balls and yet not be desexed. If he doesn't have any that you can see - they can be undescended. It can be the case in any dog in any breed. Some breeds are more prone to it than others.

A dog with undescended testicles can still breed.

If there's none to be seen or felt but no ear tattoo the only way to confirm is by ultrasound. If he's not desexed and has undescended ones it can be a big op to desex...

    Sorry about the crap...

Gee I thought coming to a site that included cross breeds would eliminate the arrogant breeder attitudes but apparently not.

Not everyone knows everything about dogs and that's why they come to places like this. The OP was asking a genuine question, why make her/him feel like crap?

Stupid thing Mollinator is that the breeders on here aren't the ones with the bad attitudes.... sigh...

Sorry Myf but your post is lost on me.

I think the OP is a stir.

Lately I've tried just looking in and not making comment on anything but am finding that hard. DA's knows that I'd rather have a temporary ban than to really say what I think and that choice be removed from me.

Oh it doesn't really have anything to do with that, it was more aimed at the 'ban me' part

well, I have the dog now and going to the vet and I have the papers signed over so all is good, the question about knowing if it was desexed is that I know there are female dogs in the area and I have heard if a male smells a female in heat they will try and get to it, and yes I do have a secure yard cause I already have a dog.. but thank you to every one with answers.

As some desexed males can still have the appearance of a sack for some time I feel the question is valid.

I hope you continue to bear with us here on the forum, Naomi.

Yes that can be true. Some boys can not help themselves
I think if you can not feel testies or you cant see a tattoo it is a good idea to take it to the vet , even if the vet charges you a consult. If nothing else I would get it vacinated and wormed given you have a dog at home, unless you know it is covered already?? Good luck with him. Hope to see you around again

Breeding, Showing, Training and general crazy making!!!
