My name is Rhiannon, and I currently live in the US. I own four dogs: a Australian Kelpie/Blue Heeler cross named Momo, a German Shepherd/Husky/Wolf cross named Kavik, a Chihuahua/Beagle mix named Chi Chi, and a Bloodhound/Lab cross named Bella. 8D

Kavik and Momo were shelter dogs, Chi Chi was a stray, and Bella was a puppy someone was giving away. ^_^

Momo is currently believed to be one-month pregnant with Kavik's puppies,
but can anyone check out her pregger picture in my album and tell me what they think? ^^ I'd be ever so grateful.

It's nice to be here, and I hope I get to make friends with a lot of other dog-enthusiasts! 8D

Can i ask... are shelter dogs in Canada not de-sexed before re-homing?????

It would seem to be the norm world wide that shelter, rescue & pound dogs are de-sexed before re-homing...

(Just some food for thought )........

AF in Australia many Pound dogs are not desexed before re homing. Sad but true.

Shelters run by welfare groups are different and most of them have desexing programs, but not Pounds - they are Govt run and desexing is often optional - or not offered.

Wow, I wasn't on the forum for a little while and this thread exploded.

For all the talk of trolls, I know if has to be stressful to some and rightfully so people can get angry about it, but if someone hasn't done anything to deserve the title of troll, I don't think they should be accused of it. I think it only discourages people to be around here.

I will definitely make a new thread of my girl. I just need to find my camera to take some new pictures of her and my other three.

    New thread for Momo: http://www.dogforum.com.au/general-d...tml#post100776

And no worries, everyone, about going off-topic. I don't mind at all.

AF, I'm not in Canada, so I don't know. But here in my town they're not. You just sign a contract to have them de-sexed by a certain date and after they've had it done you get reimbursed for some of the money you spent getting them de-sexed.

I don't think GSD has been rude or unwelcoming at all she has explained that she hopes the OP is not a troll and has apologised in advance if she is wrong. I support GDS's right to have doubts, and voice them, particularly in the manner in which she did.

I looked up my paperwork the other day and realised that I have been a Registered Breeder since 1991. I'm trying to find all my paperwork to find exactly how many litters I have bred.

Yet when I posted information to help out, cryptic comments were left by a member who "was bored", a member who I supported when things went wrong and other members were quick to point the finger.

I will echo what GSD has said, people are leaving the forum, others are just lurking in the background, and some like me will now limit their input and spend more time elsewhere.

As much as I want to follow my own advise and "get over it; look past it; or put it behind me", it's now boiling down to the point of could I be bothered too?
