Good to hear from you Amy.

Let her sleep, then when she wakes offer her water and then see if she's up to going out to the toilet.

She will be much improved by morning. Like us she needs a good heeling sleep.

Poor lil Poppy. I second MAC. Let her rest, leave some food and water close by and she'll eat or drink if she wants to.

I wish my dogs would heel in their sleep!

    ....sorry, couldn't resist :P

    Thanks MAC and Meegs!

It's horrible seeing her like this! I went to move the car into the garage before as I had left it half out to get the crate inside easily and she woke up and wanted to get out the crate but couldn't! She did a little whine so I sat next to her crat and gave her a stroke an she wagged her tail then went back to sleep!

I just want to wrap her up an cuddle her but don't want to disturb her so won't!

If she hasn't woken to eat/drink/wee by the time I go to bed should I try and get her to wee/drink or not?

    Thanks again!

I am glad everything is going well.
Just let her take her time, she should want to drink before bed but may not want to pee, you may just have to get up during the night is she stirs but it should be fine.

Thanks Ash! Will offer some water before into to bed if she hasn't woken up!

The vet said stitches will come out in 10 to 12 days and to keep the wound dry. Poppy usually wakes very early (like between 5.30am and 6am) and I usually feed her and put her out to wee/poo until I get up and hour or so later. I'm assuming the grass would be damp at this time of morning so what should I go? Can I let her out? She doesn't usually lie in the grass. I think she eats, toilets then snoozes a bit more on her outside bed!

Yes let her out, it is only the stitches area you need to try and keep dry. As someone (sorry, bad memory) said, have food and water near her so she can get some if she wants.
Don't freak if she flomps down in the grass, she will lick the area dry, just avoid it if you can.

Who needs the cuddles more...Poppy or YOU! I think you as Miss Poppy is in la-la land sleeping off the GA lol.

As everyone has said, let her sleep, she'll let you know when she needs to toilet, tomorrow she'll be a lot brighter, that's when you have to make sure she doesn't overdo it, no jumping, no zoomies. If she gets a bit of dew on her underside just gently pat it dry.

Poppy will be fine....and as for you Amy, don't stress!

If it helps, Jodi went bush and bathed in the channel day 3 when let out for a leak, would not come back for love nor money....eeerrk. She jumped onto the couch, off the veranda from day 1. She was not in the least concerned. I was. All this was done on just let out for a pee breaks.
