Went to feed lex last night to find his bandage no where to be found..
i rang the after hours vet and they said there would be no pint to putting a makeshift bandage on because he will just take it off again, they said to just give his foot a good clean and keep him indoors and keep it well monitered (other half will be checking him all day) his next appiontment is tonight for a recheck and re bandage..

This morning tablet he was acting strange, a little with drawn.. i think i might of woken him up tho, altho he didnt eat all his dinner last night which is the 1st time since i've had him as a pup, he loves his roo mince normally.

The wound it self looked ok, wasnt weeping or anything, so fingers crossed.

I agree with Clea, he MAY have eaten the bandage...in which case you need to watch him like a hawk! Have a really good hunt around for that bandage, otherwise mention it to the vet - not eating or being overly interested in his food could indicate he's eaten it. Check to make sure he's done a number 2 since the bandage disappeared.

Fingers crossed this is not the case!

I did find the majourity of it (still intact) there was only the un padded part that went up his leg, all the foot section was all still intact, like he's just pulled a sock off minus the leg part...

I actually havent noticed any number 2 for at least a day...

So the "cotton wool" type padding is nowhere to be seen? Until you see the vet tonight I'd not offer him any food, see what the vet suggests. Not trying to be alarmist, but if you aren't sure if he's swallowed it, you do need to consider that he's swallowed it and potentially there is a blockage. Maybe give the vet a call now to ask what you should do in the meantime - is he still subdued, how do his gums look?

no he didnt get any of the padding i can clearly see where it begins and ends, the only part that is un acounted for is the sticky bandage + the thin gause stuff they put under the sticky bandage, and that could still be in the backyard im not sure.. note sure about his gums recently.. but this morning they were fine

Vet visit went great, they said it was fine for him to have the bandage off now, the open wound had formed a "granual" (sp) layer so a scab can now form, lex is weight bearing great and even doing zoomies on that foot..

But i must keep a strict eye on the wound for any extra inflammation and if lex has a go at it, but he is doing fine, appitite has picked back up and he's back to his normal self...

    Let the scabbing begin!!!
