Glad Lex is ok and it wasn't more serious. If he ever does have to ride in back again (Sometimes no other option). How about a lead on both sides ie left and right, so he can't reach either side. We used to do that with fractious ponies when grooming in their stalls. Will still allow Lex to move his head or sit, just not reach the sides.

I agree if you had a cage that would be the very best solution. Can give him shade as well that way.

    Question:

Ever since Lex has been on his medication he has been off his food, he will eat it eventually, but he just not that intrested in food anymore. I thought this was normal because of the meds but now he's off the medication (has been for about a week) and he's still nto that intrested in his food, he hasnt lost any weight yet..

Well just hought id update Lex's final progress...

Bandage is off, wound is scabed over and appitite is back to normal
He is walking and running fine on the foot and he is just the same if not better than he used to be...

Is just like to say thankyou for everyones kind words and support through my little dilema.. I had a little bti more closure after the weekend just gone.. I had to buy and install new shock absorbers in my car because of the impact to them hitting the speed bump and while i sat there tighting the bolts up i was thinking and i did get a little upset as i was gerni-ing the tray out from the blood from lex... i can truely say i have learnt a big lesson from this.

I have a life to look after, he's like a child to me... i WILL not take anymore chances, i know lex doesnt hold any grudges he will always love me regardless, i can see that clearly. This experiance has brought me so close to my little (big) mate.

So in closing, thank you to everyone again, this forum was a good emotional vent..
