Aw Macca, I'm sorry to hear this. But I'm glad the vet has ascertained the problem so can now operate to remove the problem.

Nah, vet would have not had time scheduled to perform the op there and then. It doesn't work like that, unfortunately, unless it's a life and death situation.

Keep us posted onMonday how your dog goes. All the best.

If your feeling unhappy with your vets decesion I would take her to another vet asap.

Is she on anything to relieve the pain?

...and how on earth did the 1st vet miss feeling them when she did an abdo exam-they are the size of a broom handle and she has 5 of the suckers in there! (3 are half that size)
I couldnt believe they can get that big!

A locum is a fill in vet if the regular one is away.

    Good luck for Monday.

He didn't put her on any pain meds (not sure wether he gave her a shot of pain relief while sedated)
to be honest, i was so caught up in talking about the in's and outs of the surgery on Mon i completly forgot to ask about pain and wether she would be in alot or not, however i think she is, she is really flat tonight just laying but not closing her eyes to sleep, so i am really hoping that it is not because she cant get to sleep because of the pain.
By the time i realised about the pain side of it the vet had closed. So i am going to take her down in the morning and get some meds for her just to keep her comfortable till Mon.
The vet did say that it's similir to a human UTI, the burning while peeing-his words were "it feels like your peeing razor blades"!
