So it's a small owner run business. Just what I'm looking for myself in about 5 years time.

Go with your gut, if you liked her and the dogs were active then I'd say it's as good as your going to get.

But again she may come home with the runs and this is normal for some dogs.

I used to take Gemma and Kelsey to work with me all the time. They could stay anywhere and slot right in.

If for instance Poppy was to stay for a month she would probably have the runs, it would settle and she would come home OK. Often it's the shorter stays that upset the dog.

Give them all your holiday contact numbers and phone daily to check on Poppy. I used to speak to lots of owners to reassure them their baby was doing OK.

Thanks MAC! Thats exactly what the owner said. That she does get some dogs with upset tummys. I guess I know have the knowledge of what to do if that DOES happen again. I also have the medicine the vet gave me which I was told to keep incase Poppy were to need it again but I would DEF seek medical advice before dosing her up with it.

I think back to when we left her the last time and she has grown and developed SO much! Back then she was still in her playpen each day now she has free roam of the yard. She has been out and about, to the beach and met LOTS of different people, children and dogs!

I hope that that means she will cope better with another new adventure!

You have learnt a heck of a lot too Amy, so between the both of you (you and Poppy) think evereything will be fine.

Like MAC said go with your gut instinct. If you got good vibes from this woman and felt good talking to her, then I;d say try it out and see how you go. All the best, and BTW, enjoy your trip away.

We all keep learning Amy, and will till the day we die. And we all have to start somewhere.

I forgot that - you taught me again.

My LOVELY pet sitter is available!!! Phew!!!

I DID feel comfortable sending Poppy to the kennel I looked at yesterday BUT I was very worried about how she would handle the stress.

I'm SO much happier with her going to AGB's and I know I will enjoy our special weekend away SO much more knowing she is with someone she knows at a house she knows with a doggy she knows.

Thanks for ALL the advice, tips and opinions! There might come a time in the future when I HAVE to use the kennel and all the info I recieved has been so helpful!
