Thread: Bathtime???

    Default Bathtime???

Just interested in how, when and why everyone does bathtime with their puppy/dog?

How often do you bath your puppy/dog?

What type/brand of shampoo do you use?

Do you use conditione? What type/brand?

Anything else you do special at bathtime?

I would say once a fortnight, Unless he rolls in something undesirable.

Fidos herbal rinse, smells so good and keeps on the coat for a good time.

I don't always use a conditioner, but I do have a a coconut smelling one that is quite nice.

Nothing overly special during bathtime, just a positive normal experience. Lots of praise and obviously rubs lol. He does always do a big zoomie after his bath though and enjoys being chased when he does.

I use Fidos flea shampoo, once a week before DT. I dont condition her, apart from her tail, because I like it long and lustrous She always like to try herself off, so i pick her up out tof the bath, grab her really tight before she bolts off and rub all of the drips off, then I put the towl on the ground and she rubs herself on it then i get a whole heap of zoomies. She loves bathtimes, I think.

Never, or, hardly ever, I do bath if they have rolled in anything. Mine get wet all the time anyway, their coats are soft and shiny, no scratching with itchy skin. I go by smell. I also like the natural oils etc not to be removed.

I hardly bath my dogs, they are whippets after all!

When I do bath them I make sure it is in the hottest part of the day, turn on the hose and wash them with which ever shampoo I grab first out of the dog cupboard.

Twice a year we go to my parents and they get a long lovely bath in the hydrobath.

Whenever they are going to a show. So it could be once a week or a month or more.

Mine get bathed in a horse shampoo which works well diluted & makes them brilliantly white with just one wash. Economics in products does play a part when you have great big dogs!! Then conditioner (horse one again - a silver white one) which gets brushed and combed through. Blowdry and you're done!

I never brush stuff out of their coats dry and dirty, it breaks the hair. It's always much better to wash knotty coats then fill them up with conditioner to brush. Saves heaps of pulling as well!!

Its interesting to see how everyone does it differently...doing whatever works for them. Its great!

We usually bath once a week. She tends to need it weekly. I guess its easy at the moment as she is small enough that I can just do her in the laundry tub. I use Aloeveen but want to get a whitening shampoo for her tail.

Poppy LOVES baths. She just stands or sits and lets me do what I need to do!

After she lets me rub rub rub her dry and then she does CRAZY bath zoomies!

A lot depends on the breed and coat too. Mine are heelers so are very low maintenance.

Whenever she needs it really. Like two days ago she rolled in ehr own wee, so it was off to the bath with her. Thing is, she doesnt like getting bathed. Or wet, really. I'm gonna have to work on that with her, lots of treats praise etc.
I dont have a set schedule really.... like someone mentioned above I go by smell. THough I should wash her more often lol or else she'll really despise baths

Once or month or so. I have no idea what the brand is, some no name brand. All I do is wait til it's hot outside and turn on the hose. I find Leo prefers it to the laundry tub. No conditioner is used. Leo only really likes baths because of the rub down with a towel and a reeeeally long brush afterwards xD
