    Now....
The idea of a barkery , if there was one what would you expect from it ?

    Um, what's a barkery???

    Size and enclosure materials ?
Supervised or owner carer so to speak ?
    Small dog/big dog area ?
    Or all in one ?
Just with this idea....would you be offended if there was a sign or similar asking for your dogs to be well mannered/friendly or please consider leaving them at home sort of thing?

Nah not offended, would expect it, it goes without saying, doesn't it? TBH I'd expect it to say a lot more than that.

    And location......
Do you expect it to be in your main st ?
    Nope.

How far away from the main st is too far ? 1 block,5/6 blocks etc ?
    Doesn't really matter how far.

If it had its own 'wash yourself' hydrobath or similar dog wash, would you rather it inside or outside the shop?
Inside, but I'm in Tassie. Lol.

Would in the car park for example bother you? (fully fenced off course)
Um, probably would turn me off I think.

Would you prefer to do it yourself or have staff do it for you?
If it was strictly do it yourself would that bother/turn you off ?
Strictly do it yourself would turn me off, I'd rather be shopping.

Do you prefer to be able to have a relaxing browse around without being approached by staff?
I would prefer staff to always approach me upon entry to see if they can assist.
Or would you prefer to be approached, asked and then left in peace ?
Yes, left in peace if i state I'm fine.
Do you mind when a staff member stays with you suggesting items/ranges?
Yes, I mind very much. Bugger off.

    What about size?
    When is small too small?
    When is large too large?
    Huh?

Would a section denoted to Rescue detract from the 'specialist' aspect from this place or would you feel it added to it?
Dunno, think it would detract from my perception of the place TBH.

    Thanks again guys,you've been fantastic
    Takes a bow.

The idea of a barkery , if there was one what would you expect from it ?
a variety of dog friendly treats, pepsi loves the little biscuits

Size and enclosure materials ? no opinion

Supervised or owner carer so to speak ?
i think owner care is fine
Small dog/big dog area ? i think it is important to have some area where smaller dogs can play without fear of a big dog stepping on them, having said that it could be easily managed without too much work

Just with this idea....would you be offended if there was a sign or similar asking for your dogs to be well mannered/friendly or please consider leaving them at home sort of thing? i think it is a great idea and be prepared to ask people that dont have effective control over their dogs to put them back on a leash or go to leave

    And location......
Do you expect it to be in your main st ? just off a main st is great, easy parking and not too much traffic
How far away from the main st is too far ? 1 to 2 blocks

If it had its own 'wash yourself' hydrobath or similar dog wash, would you rather it inside or outside the shop?
Would in the car park for example bother you? (fully fenced off course)

I am lazy so i would prefer the option to have some one else do the dirty work, i dont mind having to make an appointment or paying up $50 for a wash if i know it will be done properly

Would you prefer to do it yourself or have staff do it for you?
If it was strictly do it yourself would that bother/turn you off ? no but i probably would not used that service

Do you prefer to be able to have a relaxing browse around without being approached by staff? depends on my mood
Or would you prefer to be approached, asked and then left in peace ? if i am looking for something in particular i want to find it with a minimal fuss, and if a staff person can point you in the right direction great.
Do you mind when a staff member stays with you suggesting items/ranges? depends what i am looking at, if i know what i want and name the brand etc, i dont need their suggestions, if i was looking at a new product i would like to know about it, how to use it and perhaps a demo.

    What about size?
    When is small too small?
When is large too large? petstock is too big! i can never find what i want and there is never any help to find it! i prefer smaller stores, i find the staff more likely to know about everything in the store and how and why to buy it!

Would a section denoted to Rescue detract from the 'specialist' aspect from this place or would you feel it added to it?[/B] not at all, i would love to see people promoting giving a dog a second chance, i would also like to see a chance to give things to rescue, in my search for the perfect shampoo for pepsi, i used about 10 different product all have been used once or twice, i would love to be able to easily donate that sort of thing to people that are rescuing dogs. perhaps a section advertising dogs ready for their forever homes would be good too. BTW i did give the shampoo to a person who rescues dogs but i met her when i was starting to look for a second dog.

It would also be nice to see photos of staff with their dogs and regular customers and their dogs!

Also a culture in the store that doesn't shun mixed breeds, a lot of the specialist shops are quite snobby as soon as you mention you have a cross they are not interested in helping you!

The idea of a barkery , if there was one what would you expect from it ? I googled the word and got dog bakery? if that is right then I think its a good idea, not necessarily a large section...but deffinately a look book of cakes/treats you can order for your dogs special Bday?

    Size and enclosure materials ??

Supervised or owner carer so to speak ? I think a mix of both, as long as anyone I am talking to has a passion in animals.

Small dog/big dog area ? Yes...I went to petboyz shop here in newcastle.. so badly set up

Or all in one ? seperate, and that helps if animals are coming in aswell...

Just with this idea....would you be offended if there was a sign or similar asking for your dogs to be well mannered/friendly or please consider leaving them at home sort of thing? Nope not offended at all

    And location......
Do you expect it to be in your main st ?
Main street is good, but Im not overly phased where it is.

How far away from the main st is too far ? 1 block,5/6 blocks etc ?
    not an issue

If it had its own 'wash yourself' hydrobath or similar dog wash, would you rather it inside or outside the shop?if its cooler weather, inside.

Would in the car park for example bother you? (fully fenced off course)not if weather was good

Would you prefer to do it yourself or have staff do it for you? A choice is nice, Maybe I want googie washed while I shop type thing.

If it was strictly do it yourself would that bother/turn you off ? Nope

Do you prefer to be able to have a relaxing browse around without being approached by staff? If i look like I'm lost then yes help me, If not I will seek out your help A friendly hi and welcome is nice though.

Or would you prefer to be approached, asked and then left in peace ?
I don't like it being left to the last second when Im handing over money to be acknowledged in a store, unless its reallllllllllly busy type thing.

Do you mind when a staff member stays with you suggesting items/ranges? suggestion is fine, pushing is not.

    What about size?
When is small too small? when 2 dogs & 2 people can't walk down the same aisle lol

When is large too large? When I have to phone the store owner for directions back to the counter

Would a section denoted to Rescue detract from the 'specialist' aspect from this place or would you feel it added to it? I don't thnk it would detract at all. If people are going to be that uppity that they turn their noses at it then screw them anyways
