I guess it must be the colour. A few people HAVE said that they haven't seen a brown and white one. I just didn't think they were that 'rare' to come across. I, myself know that brown and white is fairly common, I just figured other people did too.

God help the tan and white BC owners!
    yeh lol
I alway get the "they come in other colours?" with the you sure your not making this up look when they ask if Sam is really a BC lol The pound I got him off even thought he might be a cross because he is cream and white... a lot of white

    Hi Ferrero,

She looks very much a purebred Border Collie to me.

I think a lot of the general public have this 'idea' or 'perception' that a BC must be black and white with a medium-long coat. Then they see even black and whites with a short coat and go 'what is THAT?'

The other colours thrown them right off. Best bet is find a BC breeder and ask them, but seriously she looks all BC to me. A very pretty girl too, I might add.

Yes she is indeed a pure bred Border Collie.

I have been looking at various pics and they all match up.

Here are a few I have found:

I see no difference in these pics and your dog. So yep I reckon she is a purebred BC.

On todays walk, I was asked if she was a Kelpie!

I think I'll make her wear a sign saying "Hi, my name is Casey and I am a Border Collie!"

    Looks BC to me.

They do come in a lot more colours besides the more well known black and white.

So you just say Border Collie - chocolate (or maybe red) colour variation.

Oh my god, are you serious!? How is it nasty???? Its true though! It is a badly bred BC.
Far out, there are much more 'nasty' comments thrown around on this forum.
Should I have sugar coated it and said 'oh she's sooooooo cute, and she probably is a BC, but I don't think she could make it in the show ring *hugs hugs hugs love love love*'

You know, you dont care what I have to say, so why should I give a **** if you think im nasty or not.

A pet quality border collie is the preferred term.

Every one has pet quality in their litter. And hopefully people won't breed from the pet quality but they do and sometimes that's when the quality of looks can be come a little bit so so.

But to be honest I think you'll find it's the colour. Like I said people would say to me... but Kelpie's are black and white mistaking them for BC's. When you'd say the colours including fawn and blue included in the Kelpie they'd look at you with unbelieving looks. I wouldn't think the BC would be any different.

Wow myf! I can't believe you said that!

I didn't get her to be a show dog. I got her to be my pet.

When I asked if she looks purebred, I simply meant it in the sense of 'does she look more like a cross breed or a purebred BC'.

Either way, thanks for your comment, a rude one, but your thoughts all the same.
