What works for some people may not work for others

we have a close to 7 yr old large dog- only had him 7 weeks from rescue. So far he has been PERFECT with our 4 and 7 yr old boys. They are all over him/patting him etc. However they are not dog savy yet, still learning, and we have not had him long enough for me to feel relaxed. I am supervising closely- if I have a shower I put the dog outside away from the children first type thing. The children are helping me feed him, and we are walking him together (I hold the leash- the kids ride their bikes along side). So, lots of excitment still, and lots of carful thought aboiut who is where...

    Great thoughts IMO.

As Logan is new to me, I do not at this point take any chances. From what I have seen since her arrival she is brilliant with the kids, but until that behaviour continues for some time, I too do things like put her outside when showering (if kids around) and always supervise when other kid is over.

Have never done that before (other than Zed) because all dogs have come to us as puppies and have been brought up with the kids from day one with complete trust.
My gut feeling is that it won't take long before I trust Logan explicitly with both boys because I am not seeing a mean bone in her body. Having said that though, they are not toddlers and are always listening and learning about how to behave around dogs.
