    Default What Should I Expect??

Tomorrow is de-sexing day. I am taking her in first thing tomorrow morning. I am just filling in the forms now. There is an option for her to have intravenous fluids during the surgery. They say this helps her blood pressure and kidney function. Any advise on this??
How will she be after the surgery?
Will she be able to jump into the back of the car?

    Thanks in advance

I would leave it to the vet about the IV they should not need it but if she bled a lot for some reason it may then be wise.
She should be able to jump in your ute but I would not let her just the same.

Tbh, not sure about the fluids, someone else might have an answer.

She'll be a bit groggy and don't let her jump in the car, get some help to lift her in. Until her stitches are out don't allow her to jump up on anything, and exercise should be kept to a minimum, just gentle walks. Hard with a pup!

If she jumps/runs around too much there is the risk of the stitches breaking open, and also for fluid to build up under the skin (this can be drained tho).

Your vet will tell you what to do, most give a little info pack to clients which lists do's and don'ts.

Oh, and no baths until the stitches come out!

    Good luck tomorrow!

I would not let a recently desexed female jump into a car, I would suggest to let her step up with assistance.

She is home and very tired. She is laying on the cushions on the floor. Now to spend the next 10 days home with my girl. It will be bliss!

Glad she is home. You'll be surprised at how chipper she'll be in the morning, compared that is to how we would be getting around.

    Enjoy your break.
