    Hi Kelpie Mum,

What a special little girl! She is gorgeous!

I have a friend who has a beautiful three legged girl.

As she was rescued from a pound they are unsure how her leg was partly severed, though she did not recieve any vet care by her owners

She had the rest of her leg removed (as it kept dislocating) and is an absolute joy in every way! She may be the smallest in her family (6 doggies) but is certainly in charge! Runs like the wind, T bones the others any chance she is given and is the greatest character.

    What is your dogs name?

I love what you have written at the bottom, I also like "My little dog, a heart beat at my feet" (Edith Wharton)

I dont have a three legged dog although our old neighbor and close friends do and she is fine, just as active as she was when she had 4 legs if not more so.

    Its amazing!

    Thumbs up

    ( Hi all !! My first post !! )

A three legged animal can live as long as an animal with a full compliment of legs !
I have a very loving and affectionate 3 legged Cat 'Redmond' ( sorry, not dog ) who is now 19yo.. He was Catnapped at the age of 6 months and was not found till 3 weeks later under the office building of a local school. His mum 'Bikkee' is only six months older than him and is also still with us.
Redmond had a broken front leg that by then had all but died so we had to have his leg amputated. We were surprised at how quickly he overcame his three legged disability..
He has always remained a very trusting cat to this day and he loves to lick toes !!

About my dogs ? Well, that will be another post...

I had someone recently comment that they thought my dog must have been abused and negleted to loose her leg like that which upset me a bit... as my dogs are very well loved.. she just got too over excited one day one the back of a ute....
I will NEVER tie a dog to the back of a ute again..

Lovely to meet you all... Thanks for readin about my girl..
I saw a dog tied to a ute today with a chain it really worried me and upset me

perhaps some others will see this thread and understand why a dog in a ute is not a good idea...

As soon as I read the original post I knew the ute aspect would be brought up.
Can I ask how and why the dog fell off?
