    Talking Your Pooch's Name

What is it and how did it come about?

Did you spend any time on baby name websites looking for something?
Did you see the dog for the first time and go, 'Yup, he/she is a.....'
Was it a name you loved?
    Did any family members object?

The dogs home gave our pup the name 'Tina' for identifying purposes. I wanted to call her 'Trixie' after Trixie Belden, because she is inquisitive.

My parents refused, saying Trixie was a 'hooker name' (I profusely apologize if anyone out theres name is Trixie! I happen to love it). So we called her Roxie, and everyone sings The Police song 'Roxanne' to her, especially my parents.

It completely baffles me. That song is about a prostitute!!

Have a quick search, this thread has been done before

Batty got his name because his ears are too big and they look Batty. He's also a complete loon which kind of fits in with that

Aw really, sorry. I did have a look but didn't find it. I must be going blind!! Can I get rid of it before everyone comes back and groans, 'Aw, not again'.

Batty is gorgeous, I can see why he got his name. What breed is he?

All we know is his mum was a Kelpie x Australian Cattle Dog. No idea what so ever what dad was, I just call him a kelpie cross when I'm asked.

    lol very funny....

    I love naming dogs....

Dooee was born here and when he was 8 weeks old sold, he ended up back here after a week and we called him Scooby do for about 6 months... one day a friend said to me... You know you can't call a adult male stafford Scooby Do... so I changed it to Dooee... in the past 12 years I've met three other staffords and 1 mixed breed called Dooee...

but the one I love the most was Raimius... his pedigree was Powerpaws Red October everyone wanted me to call him Sean... I decided on Raimius after watching the movie and discovering that Sean Connery's name in the movie was Raimius.... I loved that name...

My puppy's name is Johnny it was spose to be his puppy name till he went to his new home.... he's now 5 months old and still here... lol... have been thinking I may have to find a better name for him.... any ideas??

Other names I've had.... Mortisha, Jewel, Ravin, Mr. Belvedere,

Oh gosh Angela, is he completely full of energy?

Dora is a cute name. It always makes me smile. Dora's are sweet and spunky, IMO.

Pepsi was originally called alice at the pound but she was so bubbly and being black, pepsi seemed like the answer!
