DA I was talking of a Halti, not a harness Though I do believe the harness has its place as well sometimes.Loppy for example , we walk her in a harness.

BlackLex , the pic you showed me was a halti yes. Justremember to use it in conjunction with the check chain. As in only use the halti if he becomes distracted, over the top and his attention is not on you. The minute he does give you all his attention, reward and then go back to using the check chain.
Out of interest I use the Black Dog slip checks and the half chain half webbing checks.

Rewards? Well most people use treats of some sort, whthere it be GSD's treats, sausage pieces, whatever...

I don't use treats for training. But whatever you've got I suppose.

Cooled Roast Chicken or Beef or Lamb anything that your dog LOVES!!

I highly recommend these Happy Paws Training Treats - I use them myself and IMO they are the best things on the market - bonus is the person who makes them is a member of this forum!!

I have never ever had a dog turn their nose up at these, I even get mobbed by other peoples dogs when I'm across at the park and I've forgotten to clean out my pockets!

Anything he's particularly fond of ,cut up into small pieces yes.
I also use Natures Goodness treats, they can be bought at the local supermarket and are extremely well priced, like only only $1.48 a bag.

Theres always Lyns treats as well most dogs love them, sadly mine wern't amongst them, they turned thier nose up at them and wouldnt have anything to do with them
