If you have any landscaping shops relatively nearby, so and get some big chunks of sandstone (or various other rock). We have almost exactly the same problem as you (neighbour's dog even looks the same xD), a big hole in the retaining wall where the dog could almost get through. Thankfully it was non-aggressive.

We solved it by going down to the landscaping shop and just getting some large stones, and then we dumped them in the hole. The dog definitely can't push them over, and it'll learn quick smart if it tries to dig under them

Depends on how much your willing to go through i guess..
But my GF's dad has 3 jack russles and he dug down about a foot (maybe abit less) along the line of the fence and droped down long very wide planks of timber into the gap ( make sure some still stick up out of the ground) make sure its hard up against the fence, then drive some short
star post deep into the ground in front of the planks so they cant be moved.
sorry if it makes no sense, but just a suggestion..

He's happy as larry. The vet has checked him over and is happy that there is no lasting damage. Vet said that Batty mustn't have been fighting as while he has some minor bruising it could have been much worse. The red marks from what I'm guessing to be his teeth are still there, I'm thinking that they are definitely bruised a bit, poor baby. But he's chased the cat around, then been chased by the cat, is behaving as normal in the yard with one exception... He's not going near the end of the retaining wall he usually climbs up!! At the moment he's trying to push a rock into my left leg...

Railway sleepers will be here on Monday. I've asked for 7 of the things that should run the length of that fence. They're being drilled for me too, FIL is brilliant and he's not bringing MIL with him!!! This weekend is getting better and better.

And if that don't work, then you can blow them up.

Excellent news all round then by the sounds of things. Please keep up the Arnica twice a day, perhaps until the end of the weekend then if he's still a bit bruised.

I will definitely be doing that. Are they supposed to enjoy the taste? Maybe it's just because I'm giving it to him, but he's inhaling it then looking for another

I took Arnica when I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed under GA. It had a sugar coating when I took it. Maybe thats why he thinks its YUMMY!

Glad to hear he is doing well!

Have a couple yourself. You'll find they're quite sweet to taste. Batty could be like Spirit. At the sound of pills being popped out of the blister pack, she comes roaring into the kitchen & plops herself in front of me with her tail wagging & a big smile on her face. Pills = treats in Spirit's mind. Nail clipping = treats, grooming = treats, looking cute & smiling = treats etc, etc
